I am a 44 year old looking for advise on my current program . Prior to this I was doing a three day on one day off split like this
Day one
chest
shoulders
Tri
Day two
back
bi
abs
day three
quads
hams
calfs
All body parts are two exercises eight sets total
I have changes things around to shorten my time in the gym ( I work out with my 13yr old son) and to swith to a more basic core routine concentrating more on compound movements , bench, deads, squats. New routine is as follows
day one
Flat bench 6 sets 8 to ten reps
Standing military presses , 6x 8 to 10
Close grip bench 6 x 8 to 10
day two
Dead lifts 6 x 8 to 10
bent barbell row 6 x 8 to 10
barbell curl 6 x 8 to 10
day three
Squats 6 x 8 to 10
SLDL 6 x 8 to 10
calf 6 x 8 to 10
This is repeated twice in a seven day period with the exercises for each group being changed each workout.
I appreciate any input on how to make this better
