Help with Diet Fat Content

Hi…im 24 …5"10 and 155 lbs …and very lean…im not out to gain alot of mass or anything…just bodybuilding for the health benefits and the great feeling…I started to get interested in consuming some good fats such as natural peanut butter and fish oils which I have ignored in the past…if some of u can critique my diet I would greatly appreciate it…

Meal 1 5 egg whites 1 bowl of oatmeal
1 teapoon of olive oil
2 fish oil capsules 2000mg
1 multivitamin

Meal 2 whey protein shake with 1 % milk
1 tbsp natural peanut butter

Meal 3 1 can of tuna
2 slices of whole wheat bread
1 tbsp olive oil
2 fish oil capsules 2000mg

Meal 4 whey protein shake with 1 % milk
1 apple
1 tbsp natural peanut butter

Meal 5 Chicken Breast
Brown Rice w/Broccoli
1 tbsp Olive Oil
2 fish oil capsules 2000mg
1 multivitamin

Meal 6 whey protein w/ 1 % milk

I was wondering if u guys think im consuming too much fat?? Is it ok…to take fats and fish oil capsules in the same meal…any help would be greatly appreciated…thanks

It doesn’t seem like you’re getting more than 90-100 grams of fat a day, unless you use it to cook as well. 90-100g seems fine to me, unless you’re dieting. If your diet consists of 3000 calories, this is about 30%, so if you want to, you can go a bit lower. But it’s really up to you.

I don’t really know what to tell you about the fish oil. It’s recommended to eat fish twice a week. Say each of those meals contains 10g of EFA, then more than 20g a week wouldn’t be necessary. If you eat 6 capsules a day, you’re getting about 42g a week. I’m no expert, but I’d say that that looks fine. May as well go above the recommended fish intake, and I can’t see it hurt you.

And yes, it is certainly fine to eat ay kinds of fats together (except trans fatty acids I suppose). Try opening the fish oil capsules and adding them to a shot of olive oil. Do that 3 times a day, and you’ll be able to eat bugs on fear factor soon:)
