Help Wanted

Pete- no on the belt, I have a 4 inch belt that I usually wear.

Snap and Pete_ Notice the artical about hip flex on the main board , well I read it and did a couple of video checks . And guess what, My hip mobility really really sucks. It takes everything I can do to break parallel. Just one more thing that needes work. I think I am opting out of the aging process and substituting my own reality.

Military press standing 135x10, 155x5, 175x5,4,3
dips 15,15,14,12,10 did sets to fast
chins 10,8,6,5,5

In and out in <30 minutes

Read through the hip article too, some decent stuff in there. My hips are perpetually stiff and trashed. As the chiro I recently went to, I have the worst of both worlds: sitting all day then hitting my body hard in the gym. The lighter cardio, and just walking helps me a lot, and I have to stretch for 20 minutes every day, or else I can’t squat.

Then do everything. Seriously, you’ll have to work on the mobility issues. Strangely, I have the opposite problem. Will squat to the floor if I don’t control it since my hips are so hypermobile.

Snap and Pete Found the perfect stretch for the hip, it is called the pidgeon stretch. Going to do this and others daily.I will post some more video (squats) in a 4-5 days.

Pigeon is a good stretch. A staple of yoga. I’ll check back on your squats.

This is true for me too. Best gains come after a good dose of volume.

I think you have good basic brute strength, but just need to tweak form a bit to compete and you’re fortunate enough to have some great, experienced people to help you on here.

Thanks for stoppin in Brett. With some streching I should be able to get my form where it should be. I did some volume tyoday on the DL.

Dl 155x20, 225x10, 315x3,3,3,3,3,3 working on form. This is my weakest lift, I know what I need to do (lift,lift,lift)
DB bent row 60’s,70’s,80’s for 10reps
GHR 15,15,15,15

Forgot warmed up with serious stretching for 20 mins

Ahh, the chest burn…

Workout squats 135x10,225x6,275x5,315x5,365x2,405x1,435 missed, all squats where as deep as possible , streches are paying off, really felt good til 435 it just pinned me down, stopped there felt really good about form and depth and muscles felt tired in a different way so stopped there. I am sure that I will get back to 500lbs shortly with a whole lot more depth and mobility. finished with 225lbs from 32" pins for 10 singles. then 100meter hill sprints x6,leg curls, box jumps and more stretching. Will post video of next squat workout.

Todays workout was great

ME Bench and for once everything felt healthy , no pains, I atribute this to the recent increase in stretching.

Bench 135x10,185x6,225x6,275x4,315x2,325x1,335 missed lapse in concentration (wish I had video of this)
185x10 speed work
DBBP 100x10x4
bent rows 185x10x5
Wasn’t any records but felt awesome throughout

I decided on openers Squat 405, Bench 315, DL 350 with seconds at 425,325,375 respectively, then we will see where to go on the 3rd lifts will pull the stops out on squat only.
