Help Picking a Program

Hi Guys,
I’m looking for a program to put on some decent muscle, so if anyone has any suggestions I’d appreciate it. I’m looking to be lifting 3 or 4 days a week. I’m more concerned with putting on some pounds than getting shredded, but I’m only looking for a workout, not diet advice right now.

I’m looking through all of the articles written by the awesome coaches here, but there’s so many that it would help me out if you guys could point me in the right direction as to what your favorites are.

Thanks.

look for Chad Waterbury’s Big Boy Basics or Lift Fast Get Big…both great workouts to help throw on some solid pounds if you diet correctly…both worked great for me, greatly helped imporve my strength and put on some solid lean muscle mass…good luck

I like some of Christian Thibaudeau’s programs, as I’ve always preferred more of a bodybuilding split to a full body workout. HSS-100 is very good. Other’s have had good success with Chad Waterbury’s programs, but I haven’t tried one, so I can’t offer much advice there.
You should first decide whether you want to work full body each time you go in, or bodyparts, and then you can narrow the program choice down from there.
My advice is to choose the program that you will stick to and work the hardest on. That is much more valuable than picking the “perfect” program and half-assing it.

Total Body Training by Chad Waterbury has worked very well for me.

So has Westside for Skinny Bastards (upper, lower split), both are good for a beginner.

You can try them both and THEN see if you want to carry on doing split routines or if you want to stick with Total Body.

You could even swap between the two types of training depending on your goals at a particular time of year.

If you’re looking to lift 3 or 4 days a week, try out the Waterbury Method. I’ve seen some of my best gains come off of that, both times I went through it.

Thanks guys, I’ll read them over and go for it.
