Help on First Cut/Recomp/Weight Loss

Update in a couple of days.
Stalled out more due to some family issues and holidays. Got back on track and dropped the dextrose I was taking before/after workout. Down to 219. Been dropping weight fast again due to that. Lifts are stalling but they arn’t down so that’s good. Dropped sizes in clothes.

Xl shirts to larges
38 30 jeans to 34 30 jeans
Has to buy smaller belts haha

Getting compliments and life is good. I have never had a problem with girls, but i guess in winter clothes I look better and dime pieces are approaching me instead of the other way around like usual so fuck yes. My face is less poofy.

I just saw this thread, doing very well Tyler! Your progress has been very impressive. As far as your question about whether or not to take a diet break, I would suggest that as long as you’re still feeling motivated and energy is not lagging, and your calories are still at a reasonable level (not poverty macros), there’s no need for a diet break. A typical contest prep is a minimum of 16 weeks (usually 20+), and at your current body fat level you’ll have no problem continuing to lean up during this cut. Honestly, and there are certainly exceptions to this, I think that many guys who give the advice that you need to take a break from dieting and that you can only diet for so long are just using that as an excuse for not wanting to continue with the diet. If that’s the case, totally fine, but no need to justify it to others as being part of some great strategy.

Thanks man.
What I think I’m going to do (and already experiencing this) I’m going to loosen up on the diet for the next two weeks because of the holidays. Food is a big part of my family, Espcially the baking for my mom. She’s been really sick for a while and baking is that one thing that lights her up so I’m not taking that away from her. Just be conscious of unnesary carbs so these from the treats don’t impact me too much. Hopefully add more cardio because I have time from no school and that should hopefully atleast keep my weight.

Speaking of which my gym back home was having a powerlifting meet and I signed up for fun. Hit a 550 deadlift that was the slowest thing ever and felt wrong going up but hey I did it. They didn’t really have weight classes but I got 4th behind these huge guys twice my age and beat a guy that I’m old high school friends with that’s on gear so I’m happy with that.

Ah, pwolves17 is in on this now… He knows his cutting. As I know many other do, But he posted a contest prep that is among one of the best reads I have had on here in awhile. Listen to him man, he can really help.

Really depleted in this pic from being sick, anyone get sick easier on a cut? This is the third time in 4 months, I hardly ever get sick.

And also how do people deal with buying new clothes after something like this? I can fit nicely into athletic fit medium shirts now from xls and at this point I’m not losing size across the shoulders only the waist, so I’m thinking of starting to buy new clothes. I’ll never fit into a small because length and shoulders, so I figured it’s safe now to buy. I’m tired of wearing clothes that look like blankets on me, but I suppose that’s a good problem to have in my case haha. I’m going to wait on pants though I think, I’m just making new holes in my belts. Still losing a lot of size in the ass, leg area.
