Help Formulating a Diet

I’ve been reading the site for a while now and been lifting for a few months and seeing little to no results (I realize these things take time) I feel that most of my lack of progress can be attributed to my diet though.

I think in general I know the right things to eat, although I still have a lot to learn, my problem is my diet is so repetitive it’s killing me, I basically just have chicken + mixed vegetables/fruit every meal. Any suggestions for an overall diet plan and some quick & healthy recipes would be sincerely appreciated.

I’m 22. 250lbs, trying to get down to single digit body fat @ ~205lbs.

Are you really eating chicken and vegs every meal? A lot of people say they know what to eat but really don’t. Post a food log of what you really have eaten in the last few days.

Also have you lost a lot of weight and now you are 250lbs? I know when I dropped from 300+lbs that I stalled in many spots, around every 20lbs. Everyone couple of months I wouldn’t lose any weight for a few weeks then it would start to come off.

Also following one of the diets in the beginners forums might be a good place to start.

What makes you think you or anybody here knows enough about the subject to formulate a diet for you. Purchase a book from Dr.Berardi.

I recommend picking up the ‘metabolism advantage’ by John Berardi on Amazon you can get it for $10-15 and it outlines all the nutritional concepts he holds more a less, if you like it and get results get precision nutrition in the future.

Yo man,

As everyone has mentioned, you really need to find and learn all about how your body reacts to different types of food. Re suggestions for other food, try:

Eggs
Tuna
Beef
Lamb
Turkey
Cottage cheese

It aint hard setting up a diet, but it depends on your body and how it reacts to certain food, as I said. Check out Nutrition for Newbies by Christian Thibaudeau. Good place to start
