Help! Diet Questions

I’m fixing to start a 18 week cardio and bodyweight program with some weight training. My major problem is that I don’t know what I should be eating like. Its a progression type program and it gets intense. Should I be eating like I would for a bulk to gain maximum mass and trim the fat in the process or should I be eating for a cut? I start with 2 miles 3 days a week and slowly progress week by week to more. Eventually in the last 9 weeks its caps off at 7 miles and goes back down. I think with the cardio and the lifting that it would be ok to do a clean bulk… Advice or tips would be awesome thanks!

If you bulk, you will not trim fat. You will only minimize the amount you gain during the bulk.

If you cut, you will not gain MUCH size. You can gain some, but you won’t have the necessary caloric surplus to make real noticeable size gains. You CAN increase your aerobic capacity without a bulk, however.

What are you trying to accomplish here? Are you trying to improve your capacity to run? Lose fat?

So, you’re investing 18 weeks of time for some training-related goal, but you’re not sure if that goal is to gain muscle or lose fat. Is it to lift heavier? Lift faster?

Do you even have a goal with this? Or is it just doing it to do it?
