Hello

spinning back fist… do you guys step in or set back… I tend to close space and it works well as long as you keep a good high guard… when you don’t it turns into a spinning back elbow. Its ok to laugh at my expense everyone else does…[/quote]

Like rich said, depends on if I’m using it as an offensive or counteroffensive technique. If I’m being purely offensive then I step through/in with it (though, I prefer to throw it hammer fist style rather than back fist style for reasons of durability). If on the other hand I find myself out of position and feel that a spinning strike is the most appropriate technique to use I’ll usually step backwards as I do it to gain distance and therefore time.

Really you should be able to do both.

first and foremost i will say you need to do some cleaning

I’m sorry I did not write that very well. I was asking about defense of spinning back fist and kicks not delivering them. I don’t really throw anything spinning, but there is a squirrelly little 150 pound guy that loves to throw them and I usually step into them and crowd him… yesterday I kept my hands to low and he caught me with the elbow…

I have no idea what you are trying to say except for I am dirty…either way not very constructive.

Maybe it was a poorly worded way of saying you should do something to get the swelling down and heal up quickly.
