I just started lifting about 4 months ago. I started using the machines the first 2 months and in the 3rd month I started using free weights. I was following a plan of Mondays & Fridays Chest, Shoulders, & Tri’s Tues & Thus Legs and Wed Back & Bicept.
I do a muli Vitamin in the morn and a protein shake after I work out. Everything has been good but about a week and a half ago I got a cold runny nose sore throgh and my head was congested.
I was told by other lifters to work though it so monday of last week I did my workout but as I was going through it I started getting a bad headache when I got to the weight bench and started lifting it turned into what I thought was a migraine (very painful wanted to throw up) so I stopped. I figured I needed a break so I took the week off ( I really didnt want to give anyone my cold either )
Heres the problem I started again this week feel alot better except for the stuffed up head or sinuous, start lifting and start to get the bad headache again I take two Ibuprofens and it takes the edge off of it so I finish up the workout.
I seem to still have a small headache this morning and Im wondering if Ive done something wrong or is it just that I have this sinus head stuffed up thing and I need to clear it up? Thanks for the help
Thanks Arms Afire I was just confused because I have been careful not to push myself to extreems. I had a fisacal last year and everything was fine and the gym I joined went over the basics with me blood pressure Cardiovascular fitness, weight & body fat and everything seemed good to them too. Ive got an appointment to see a doctor in the morn.
basically, the blood vessels in your ehad are weak and when blood pumps through them more than normal, they ache, hence your headaches.
see a doctor.
they will probably prescribe something called a beater blocker.
i got Propranolol.
2 little tablets, one in morning, one b4 bed.
every day, worked for me.
I assume the previous post refers to beta blockers. These can have some pretty serious side effects : weight gain and impaired sexual function to name a few. I wouldn’t take them unless there was a true cause for concern.
I would go see your doctor and ask him about this. Much more dependable than the medical opinions from people who have never met you on a forum that isn’t about medicine.
