Dusty, your exact quote is “I made the comment that there are plenty of unbiased news sources that report differently than what Jewbacca claimed.”
Which of the sources you supplied that reply differently than what Jewbacca claimed are unbiased and why can you maintain their lack of bias?
Mises.org? Zcommunications? counterpunch? All three are independent news/editorial sources. They are not media corporations.
Perhaps it is a misnomer to say that any news source is totally without bias, but those I listed are going to have a fair amount of objectivity, especially when compared to the news you get on cable.
And why do arguments with you always result in you splitting hairs and totally missing the bigger picture? I’ll ask again, do you like your tax dollars funding a foreign military/government? That’s the question that people should be asking.
“do you like your tax dollars funding a foreign military/government?”
Israel certainly has been the recipient of financial help from the USA. And it is much appreciated.
I say with pride the Soviet archives reveal they considered Israel the equivalent of four or more complete aircraft carrier battle groups, with troops, smack in the middle of the area it wished to dominate, and completely hindered the Soviet plan to cut of the USA’s cheap oil. Money well spent, I
Currently, however, it does not get direct financial aid, but rather loan guarantees so publically-traded USA arms suppliers can contract with Israel to make the weapons (and the US Military and allies can get bulk purchases).
And, unlike the French, we’ve paid every penny back, with interest.

Dustin, you’re swimming upstream on the river of Truth on this issue and you’re not even an instinctively stalwart salmon. You’re a clueless suckerfish who belongs in a brackish tidal basin.
I never argued the historical record he presented (a post he made earlier in this thread).
I’ve been consistent on this issue. I do not want money taken from me and other Americans, that is intern given to the Israeli government to kill its neighbors. If the Israelis and Palestinians/Arabs want to kill each other, go for it. I have no moral obligation to either side. I just don’t want my tax dollars supporting a foreign military.
And as for the media coverage that I mentioned earlier to Jewbacca, it’s pointless to argue it. I’m not going to change his mind. More importantly, it doesn’t matter.
Just so you know it is fair. Obama has written a tax dollar check worth $400 Million to the Palestinian people. Does that make you feel better?
Now tell me why you feel these sources offer objectivity while differing from the Jewbacca account.

Well, this is a topic that probably deserves its own thread.
But, the short answer is that mass media (corporations) tend to follow their respective state. What’s good for goose is good for the gander type deal. The Iraq War is a great example of the American media following along with whatever the government said. Nothing was questioned.
And I’m talking about the reporting now, not a Keith Olbermann type on a stupid TV show giving his opinion.
Jewbacca in some other posts used Israeli news sources. Same situation there too.
The links I specifically mentioned are independent news sources. They are not corporations and have no incentive to tow the party line of the state.

That oughta make 'im feel warm and fuzzy. After all we need to be “fair.”
See, now you are just being silly. I’m an actual libertarian, remember? I’m not a fan of taxation period. So why would I want anyone else but me to get my money?
Both sides do fucked up shit to each other. Both sides have their fair share of racists, bigots, loonies, etc. The thing that Americans should ask themselves is why do we have to get involved? Does this in anyway help out real everyday Americans?
You know it’s kind of like a cop going to a domestic dispute. The cop gets there and the guy is beating the shit out of his woman. The cop takes the guy, puts him handcuffs and is about to drag him away when the woman jumps on the cops back and starts clawing at him for taking her boyfriend away. Then when he gets out of jail, she gets back together with him again.
No matter how good your intentions, chances are things are going to turn up badly for you when you stick your nose in other peoples business.
