Add me. I say interesting things. Sometimes. On a good day.

WIll either of you be willing to play scrabble with me? Also, I am going to assume your user names are your actual names?

My name is Quincy Cambrel. I might play Scrabble if I feel like it.

LOL I am called Harry in the real world :P. I’m friends with Mr Hedlesky.
And I promise to play scrabble with you if I’m ever anywhere near you lol

K added both ya’ll. Also wasted 12 minutes of my life looking for someone named harry out of like 900 friends before I realized there was a search…
Felt even creepier/stalkerish than normal.
Mike, are there any supplements you think are worth taking?
There are tons worth taking. A good multi vitamin, probiotics, creatine, fish oil, leucine, timing caffiene, etc. I have really had my supplements dialed in the last month or so and I think it is making a huge difference.
Are you still taking ZMA? I liked the article you did on it.
I sure am. I love that stuff.
Me too. Not just for recovery but you get some pretty awesome dreams from the stuff haha.
Just one more question for you…are there any pre-workout supps you’d recommend that won’t kill you in the end? From your article I’ve learned not to take Jack3d or any of that shit. Thank you for your time.

Hello, how close is your close grip bench and have you ever had butt wink issues?
You seem too cool to have ever been a butt winker.
… Are you stalking me or something? Today was the first day I did a max close grip bench in like 6 months. That’s creepy/oddly comforting.
Close grip is usually shoulder width for me. So about a thumbs length from the smooth part of a competition power bar. Sometimes I will go super close grip (like today) where my hands are inside the smooth part.
I used to have a big ol’ buttwink. Mostly because my lower back was weak and my hamstrings were tight. I fixed both and only have a mild wink on lower box squats, which is perfectly fine.
x2 on barbell rolling hammies.
Well I only get butt wink once I start to get down really far cause I bascially have no idea where parallel is so I go ATG. Do you think it’s fine that my butt winks then? It doesn’t seem possible to not butt wink when I go down so far, I don’t know how anyone’s body can do that…
Umm people in my log also suggested good mornings, will that plus hamstring stretching/rolling be good? Also, should i stop worrying about it so much?

I know a lot of people go into freak out mode when the realize they are doing this. But, watch every olympic weightlifter… well, ever, and they do it too. Obviously your back going into flexion when you have your spine loaded might not be ideal but I don’t think it’s as big a deal as people make it out to be. Just start really hammering lateral hamstring flex/mobility.

why did you do the 5 doubles at 87%?
trying out some new programming ideas, especially for peaking for a meet. I don’t think I spend enough time over 90% on my max effort days. This week, my first exercise after ME work is 87% with using whatever my max was on the ME exercise. Next week, it will be 90-92 for 5 singles. Week 3 will be 95 for 3-5 singles.

what was it that made you think that?
At raw nationals, 600lbs on my back felt like 6 billion lbs. Something was very off. I looked back through my training and realized a couple things:
I failed a lot of my heavy squats in training
Once I failed, I said fuck it and went and did some other exercise.
With the way I have it set up now, starting next week, I am guaranteed at least 5 reps over 90% once I establish what my max is on the given exercise. Which will hopeully come out to about 8 reps over 90% total. I think this will be managable but I am going to have to drop some volume somewhere to make sure I don’t kill myself. But, even if I run myself into to ground, I planning to deload for 2 weeks anyway.

This amount of volume makes me cry at night
Good, you are doing it right. Just wait when you get through it. None of your pants will fit anymore and you will start squatting the bar through the ceiling.
