For someone looking to gain enough of a grasp of block periodization to write up a block program, would you recommend Issurin’s first Block book or Block Periodization 2? Thanks for the help and keep on kickin’ ass in here![/quote]
Block 2 for sure. I havent read it yet but I’ve seen some presentations on the new material and it’s a lot more practical than the first book.

I give it two weeks and you get it ![]()
Is this the rack/bench you have? I’ve been looking to purchase a GOOD one preferably not over $1000 after shipping, rack only not extra stuff.
http://www.flexcart.com/members/elitefts/default.asp?m=PD&pid=6
I was looking at the econo rack too (about 300 less) but if the one above comes with a bench that is probably just as good of a deal since a good bench is the same price difference and I need one anyway.
I filled out sent in my paperwork for Nationals and there was a questionnaire on it with a question that said something like, “who do you attribute your success in the sport of powerlifting to?” And the first thing that came to mind to write down was StormTheBeach haha
I’ve accepted that I have at least 5 years before I can make any attempt to chase your squat or deadlift but my sights are set on your bench right now.

That’s exactly what I have. I have beat the living shit out of that thing and it is still good as new. I actually didn’t pay anything for mine. It belonged to a buddy of mine and he needed a place to keep it after moved. This resulted in me getting a free rack and him getting a free place to lift weights.
Anyway, its the best rack I’ve ever used that wasn’t a monolift.

Haha. Thats awesome man. I’m glad I can help. I basically had to figure all of this shit out on my own so I really don’t mind helping other people out to save some of the frustration that I had along the way. Good luck at Nationals.
Which federation’s Nationals?

I am slowly making it not suck as bad. I joke a lot about my arms being long but, seriously, my wingspan is 84 inches. Making my bench press about as efficient as an epileptic humping a door knob.
I wanna hit 450 at my next raw meet… which would be nothing short of a miracle.
