Heavy Upper Body, Volume Lower Body Plan

Hey all.

I have hip issues – still working with specialists to figure it all out. Two surgeries haven’t done the trick.

In the meantime, I can train, but I can’t do heavy compounds for my lower body. I want to train my upper body heavy (531 style), but I need to focus my lower-body training days around machine movements like the leg extension and leg curl. I figure I’ll just do lots of volume on these days.

Any programs come to mind? I doubt I’ll find a perfect fit, but maybe there’s something I can modify.

I’d probably just pick whichever 5/3/1 template you were thinking of and just do the leg work you can handle instead of squat day?

I guess you’ve got two choices with deadlift day: go full bro (obviously what I’d do) and make it a back day OR split your leg work between a quad day and a hamstring/ pull day.
