The hair bands had some virtuoso guitarists

Just in case any Trivium/guitar fans want some fap material

And, Howard Jones from Killswitch Engage and Light the Torch making me tear up with the most emotional cover of my favorite song I’ve ever heard. I seriously hope he puts out a full version of this.

Howard is an awesome vocalist and frontman, I had the opportunity to see KSE multiple times from the front row and they always put on an awesome show. Adam is a God damn madman on stage.

Also I was a big fan of trivium growing up
big reason for buying the amp I did (he used to play a tsl if I’m not mistaken)
For whatever reason I just can’t get into jared dines though. He’s kind of a renaissance man but I just can’t get into his style for some reason.

I saw KSE with Light the Torch right before COVID shut down, like Tuesday of the week all hell broke loose. Pissed my wife off to go see them, but it was so worth it. Jesse and Howard shared vocals on like 5 songs including Signal Fire and Holy Diver. Just fucking nuts. Didn’t realize Adam was a giant
I thought he was playing a 1/2 size guitar at first it looked so small. haha

His music with Heafy is good, but he himself can be a bit over-the-top. He’s a decent human, though, and I respect him for that. Hell of a guitar player too.

These guys are absolutely amazing. Been following them for a little over a year and I’m just blown away with how amazing they play live.

That is seriously badass

You crazy cats with your metal just don’t know how cool brylcreem and polyester can be.

Until now.

Sort of fringe heavy metal (grunge), but holy shit does Miley nail this. I don’t know that anyone else covering Chris Cornell could do him justice like this.

Every Chinese kid’s favourite rock song where I grew up even though most didn’t even speak Cantonese so they didn’t even understand the fucking lyrics. Anyone heard of the band Beyond? @punnyguy ?

Speaking of lyrics, it became the theme song of the HK protest movement in 2014 and the latest one. If one would like them translated, look up “*hai kuo tian kong translation” on google.

*this is the mandarin pronunciation of the words

When it comes to music, I’m all about easy listening pop -no sophistication at all. Dabbled with some classical during a brief foray into the cello; otherwise, it’s whatever’s playing on the radio. Right now it’s a 24/7 Christmas carols station. #FlameFree #NoBullying

And my Cantonese is at the level of a 7 year old LOL.

It’s cool. The band I posted was a mainstay on mainstream radio at the time anyway. I don’t think there’s ever been a more popular Chinese(Hongkong) band in history.

This is an even easier listening cover of one of their songs:

Back to metal.

No love of System of a Down?

Liked the nods to Zappa here:

Lol what’s SOAD classified under, then? I really don’t know anymore.

I think SOAD are okay. They’re unique, their last album “hypnotise” dropped the Nu Metal influence too.

Not sure what this is, but it can’t be categorised as rock

A friend of mine co-wrote that song

Just teasing. I like Sugar and Sweet Pea. Don’t consider them metal but who cares.

For sure it isn’t, there’s even a blast beat or two in this song
