I heard they are on the studio and there is supposedly some of it on the net. Have any of you heard any of this?
www.livemetallica.com sells mp3s of all their concerts. they played ‘the new song’ on their euro tour and ‘the other new song’ on the asian tour
They’ve become progressively worse with every record after the Black album, IMO.

Good, thanks for the link.

This one will be a metal masterpiece. They will NOT produce another St Anger style album.
This will out sell the black album for sure. Rubens will ensure that it is a master piece.
A guy like him would know that this is his big chance too with the biggest metal band of all time.

I really hope they dont, or if they do, they could at least get a good recording of Lars.
St. Anger has the worst sound quality drumming tracks of any album ever produced.
This one has to be big, or they can officially hang it up.
I didn’t think St. Anger was that bad. The lyrics were pretty good. But yeah, there were two things wrong with it: the drums didn’t sound good at all, and they didn’t feature any guitar solos from Kirk. Hopefully this next one will change that.
Regardless, I’ll still buy it, and I’ll go to any concert they might put on down here in Miami.

I have no reason to predict anything. I just hope beyond all hope it doesn’t suck. It’s not a matter of St. Anger being bad, but a matter of it not being all that particularly good.

They must have gone for that sound though. After watching Some Kind Of Monster, I often wondered how they would ever get back to the band they were.
The split with Bob Rock was probably a good thing.
I hope Cliff Burton is haunting Lars and James as they sleep for making the crap they called St. Anger.

Nah, they can just do gigs around the world for the next 20 years.
Nothing beats a Metallica concert.

They’ve been bagged out so much for those 2 things I could see it going either way. They could buckle to the pressure or they will give us a big “Fuck you, we are the biggest metal band in the world and we’ll do whatever the fuck we want to.”

Damn straight. I’ll buy it the day it comes out, and I’ll camp out for tickets like I did every time they come to town.

I think that St Anger past the grade simply because it was Metallica that brought it out. Had it been some new band that nobody had ever heard of, I don’t think anyone would have taken to it.
I just cant believe they based an album around Lars’ drumming, he’s by far the worst member of the band. I still have faith though, they have to have at least one good record left in them.

Wow, not impressed. I personally think they’re way past their prime.
Am I the only one here that digs every album they ever put out?
I am a loyal Metallica fan…and I liked St. Anger. LOAD was the only one that was shaky, but there were good tunes on that one also.

Nah you’re not. Every album has had some awesome songs. St Anger had some awesome ones there.
Load was even good. The House that Jack Built, Until it Sleeps, The Outlaw Torn, and Wasting My hate are pretty solid IMO.
Bleeding me is awesome and I have seen it reviewed in a Metal Magazine as the best Metallica song for all categories, vocals, lyrics, rythum, lead, drums and so on.

For sure, eh? The black album is platinum 14 times over, only 25 other albums in music history have topped that. Consider that Metallica’s last three releases combined haven’t sold as well as the black album, I’m comfortable saying there’s no chance in hell they’re ever going to outsell it with a new release.
