what should be advoided at the dinner table on thanksgiving? im pretty sure we can all agree that turkey is something that we can eat, but im not sure about the other stuff like mash potatoes, stuffing, cranberry sauce and just the other various things. and if you have any healthy suggestions that i can add to the meals what would it be?

Just go for it. Eat whatever you want, especially if you are bulking and aren’t too worried about packing on a couple extra pounds. Thanksgiving only comes once a year… there are 364 other days * 6 meals which amounts to 2,184 meals you have a chance to keep it clean. Feast and enjoy. Then, go extra hard at the gym the following days after.
Most people eat too much on Turkey day, but one day won’t make or break you. In fact, I’d be willing to bet people probably eat better quality food on thanksgiving than most days
dude, its thanksgiving…
anything goes!
My wife and I just finished shopping at our local natural food grocers, and are making all the dishes for Thanksgiving with as much natural and organic ingredients as possible. We’re not skimping on flavor either. We’re using natural organic sweeteners, organic heavy whipping creme, butter, etc.

so is thanksgiving food generally healthy?
Turkey, sweet potatoes, pumpkin pie, cranberry sauce, salad… all good stuff.
I like using the holiday season for bulking. As mentioned above, hit the gym really hard and just go for it. Avoid some of the high sugar candy and cookies on a regular basis, but dive in to the feasts and left overs otherwise.
Just hit your squats, deads, presses and other compounds really hard!

Lean meat, real veggies, potatoes made with actual potatoes…
v.
McDonald’s, processed cheese food, Chocolate Frosted Sugar Bombs, etc.
Sure, the pies, butter, cream, whatever aren’t exactly healthy…but I think what J-fit is saying is the quality of the whole foods people take the time to prepare for Thanksgiving is generally higher than the processed crap they eat the rest of the time.
alright thanks tguy

You are welcome. The best thing for you to do is google thanksgiving food items. You will find the nutritional info very easily.

This is exactly the way you should go about it. It’s similar to the scanario where you go to a womens clinic and like 15 hot girls just got out of there with thier STD test results and thier birth control, they are all clean and on birth control and all 15 of them want you to do them over and over one after the other for the rest of the day while watching football. They even don’t mind if you take a few at a time. They are all hot and sexy in thier own way, and it’s gonna be another whole year before the cosmic goodness lines up again for this opportunity. You telling me you’re gonna stop and think about anything other than if you can get your hands on a few cialis pills? Smother your turkey, potatoes, stuffing, and anything else you can with gravy, smother everything else including the 10 soft dinner rolls your gonna eat with butter. Eat a peice of each of the 7 pies that will be served, and then go for round two. Eat like a king, this is a mans best holiday, Feast and football!!!

I have it easy for Thanksgiving.
I’m gonna eat the FUCK out of the dinner table TWICE and then pass the hell out. Then wake up at 7am to go snowboarding for the whole day.
Win?
Round one was yesterday, I ended up eating part of the table by accident.
My question is the following: Will the wood make me lose my sweet abz?
Round two is tomorrow. I hired a medium size intestine to help with the load of the smaller and larger.
I’m making egg topped scallops and crab-stuffed chicken this year.

And the egg topped scallops! Thanks.
As for what I’m eating tommorow, I’m stuffing my face with anything I want. In excess.
I’m just going to go to the gym early and do a grueling workout before the day’s festivities.
I’ll probably have lots of beer, too.
i’m canadian so i had my thanksgiving last month rather than having it tomorrow.
But thanksgiving like Christmas is one of those few meals where you should be allowed to cheat or take a holiday. Ten meals out of 100 won’t kill ya, let alone one.
Turkey, cranberry sauce, squash, roasted vegetables, whole corn on the cob, sweet potatoes/yams, are usually good stuff for anytime eating.
It is the mashed potatoes and gravy, stuffing, pumpkin pie, rolls and butter that kills ya, but again, one meal…if you train and diet well it won’t matter.

I’m going to try to take some pics to post here:
My local supplier couldn’t get the bigger local scallops I wanted, so they’re smaller than I like for this recipe. Also, I just found out the grill is out of gas (DAMN!!), so a little ‘oven improv’ will be happening…
HAPPY THANKSGIVING!
Just eat!
