Healthy Sweet Treats Thread

This thread is dedicated to helping those lifters who suffer from CSTS or Chronic Sweet Tooth Syndrome.

I’ve tried quitting sweet foods cold and have gone for a month with out them but I still can’t shake the habit.

SO! this thread’s purpose is help out fellow brethren with HEALTHY ideas and alternatives to the sweet succulent morsels of jelly-belly building foods. AKA cookies, peanut butter, candy bars, ice cream, suckers, M&Ms, Skittles, starbursts, chocolate, donuts, danishes, pastries, brownies, cake, cup-cakes, taffy, salt-water taffy, super rope, pie, so on and so fourth.

Current collective ideas are as follows:

  1. Raisins
  2. Frozen grapes
  3. Frozen strawberries
  4. Cinnamon sugar rice cakes
  5. Sorts of sugar free pudding
  6. Low carb cheesecake
  7. Dried Fruit
  8. Dark Chocolate (small amounts)
  9. Apple Sauce
  10. Homemade fruit juice Popsicles
  11. Whole Wheat toast with goodies

Your ideas will be added!

I know John Berardi has a recipe for Cheescake that is made with cottage cheese and is actually rather low in carbs but really really high in protein and fat, obviously.

Good thread…I love sweets…this past saturday I was at Serendipity in NYC on my cheat day…hmmm

If you ever go you must get the Broadway Sunday - heaven.

One sweet treat that I like during the week is white-chocolate whipped cream.

Jello white chocolate (sugar free) pudding, whipping cream, and a few splendas. It’s delicious and holds me off till the weekend for the real thing.

keep em coming

Whats wrong with a little dark chocolate a day?

I’ve never been a big fan of raisins. They look too much like rabbit shit. On the otherhand, Sunsweet dried plums are sweet and moist. Good substitute for soft candy in my book. I agree with PGA, nothing wrong with a piece of dark chocolate every day.

I use these as packaging material if I can’t find any styrofoam.

Metabolic Drive + plain yogurt, tastes like pudding. i’m going to have some now.

You never will. Trust me.

Learn to eat them in moderation or it will haunt you for the rest of your life.

I hijacked my kid’s popsicle containers and use them to make GROW popsicles. I just make some extra Post Work out shake and freeze it in the popsicle tray. They are great in the evening when munchies hit.

Surge

I second the Surge.

Must be VERY cold tho, but you almost crave it during workouts after the first few times you have it. FEELS LIKE THE JUICE MAN!!

I do love, crave, need Surge after each and every workout, however, its definitely not a substitute for a good old piece of cheesecake or an ice cream sunday with some warm, moist chocolate cake with hot fudge…in moderation of course.

Super interesting you say you can’t kick the habit. I once used diet sodas to cure my sweet tooth. Then I quit them and just went cold. After being very low carb with carb loads for while I don’t even want sweets.

I walked past a cinnamon bun place in the mall yesterday, one of my few great weaknesses. then I went back to it and stood there, staring at the buns, trying to see if I would start craving them from the smell. And it didn’t work, I couldn’t have cared less about them. And this is coming from a guy who once stole a cinnmon bun right out of the hands of a stranger in that same mall years ago when I first started low carbing. I of course them bought him a new one. But I jacked that shit right out from his hand as I passed. If someone did that to me they would likely get stabbed. I felt so bad.

JB’s cheese cakes are hot shit though. I’m making two right now. They are super high pro and mad low carb and lowish fat, compared to my usual. I wouldn’t count them as P+F without adding some fish oil or something.

The cookies he makes are unfukingreal as well.

Now I crave eggs, a lot. and jamaican jerk sauce. I’ve never liked hot sauce but now I love this jerk sauce. but then again I am kind of a jerk.

Yeah. The weird part is I don’t drink soda, ever. The thing I drink is milk and water and very occasionally juice. Of all the sweets I listed at the top, before I started really dieting, I only ate super chunk penut butter, cookies and danishes regularly; I rarely ever ate candy or anything. I think I’m just genetically mutated to have a permanent sweet tooth.

bump

Regarding Surge, try it with some orange Gatorade powder. As good as it is straight, it’s much better with this addition. Best creamsicle flavor and post-workout shake I’ve had.

The new Rocky Road Metabolic Drive bars. YUMMY!!

Keep em comin. I know other people out there have sweet teeth!
