Health Care is Not a Right

Reddog: Do we live in a democracy? If not, should we?

Zeb, you ignorant slut.

Median Household income in VT (2009) : $51,219
Sources: Bureau of Labor Statistics, Local Area Unemployment Statistics (LAUS) data.

US household income (2009): $49,777
Source: US Census (census.gov)

Hey, are you guys going to tell us what YOU both do for a living???

Assistant managers at Jiffy Lube? Manager at a telemarketing call center?

Zeb,

You going to come up with proof that we have THOUSANDS of years of oil left??? Still waiting?

You guys are totally off the reservation.

Hey people out of thin air there is no such thing as rights and you can’t justify them. There is nothingness. It is a construction like everything else. It is all about CONSTRUCTING the world you want to live in.

No wonder most of the people that despise socialism are dumb ass blue collar rednecks (I do a stupid labor job now fyi): they live in nothingness.

If you don’t want a society that provides health care for the one that needs it then maybe you are closer to dogs (who don’t construct anything). We should have a special place for your specie.

Cute.

Wrong on both counts. But if I were a Manager of a Jiffy Lube or a tele-marketing company I would be very proud to be a contributing member of the economy. Are you smart enough to know where I’m going with this?

If you dont want to give the effort of replying I understand but dont try to save your e-face by claiming it’s worthless of reply. You are an intelligent guy and I look forward to something good.

All I know is that:

  1. You say crazy things ang usually don’t back them up. When I question you on it, you insult me.

  2. You support GOP ideals which favor the rich, but you don’t seem to one of them. Why do you support policies that are counter to your own economic interests? This always astounds me about republicans. Most are NOT even in the top 2% of wage earners.

This is why most people don’t engage the far right. You guys are so angry.
garcia1970 wrote:

GOP ideals favor all but those who don’t want to work for a living or somehow live off the government. Know anyone like that?

Only God knows what you were trying to say here. Usually those with a PHD are able to express themselves quite a bit better.

As I stated above GOP ideals favor those who want to work hard and get ahead. I like lower taxes and smaller government that favors everyone (except those I’ve singled out above).
This is why most people don’t engage the far right. You guys are so angry.
Yes, we’re so angry that we have to make fun of those who work at McDonalds and Jiffy Lube’s. No wait, that would be you.

OMG! If you really believe that, you really are brainwashed.

Do you have any relatives on SS or Medicare?
Do you have any friends or relatives who had to file for unemployment?

If you do, then in your view, they are sapping off the government.

Aw to hell with it!

Good job mentioning the PhD, though. Like I knew you would.

News flash! Police’s duty is not to protect anyone.
http://www.law.cornell.edu/supct/html/04-278.ZS.html
HOw bout this, we have a civil service of people who enter medicine and must serve in the public system for a tenure, they will get paid the wage provided but get all their schooling free prior to that.

They will take an oath like Soldiers and Police Officers to serve the public.

THen when they complete their tenure, of 6 years or whatever, they can remain in that system, with benefits such as malpractice insurance taken care of, or they can go work privately.

People who pay for medical degrees out of pocket can work privately and not be bound in the state medical system.

Done.

Problem solved.
How about Rohnyn move to Norway where he can have the socialism he craves. Problem solved
If the POlice’s duty is not to protect anyone then we have more problems than we imagined.
It is not. At least not under the law.
Reddog, in a democratic society, if the people vote to set up a civil service for medicine without enforcing the that on Doctors to be a part of it…how is that a bad thing?

People who want to work privately can do that, and people who want to work in the civil service can do that.
I don’t see how that doesn’t solve the issue. If Private care is better, then by all means if you can afford it do it, but if you want to work in the public system cuz you get school for free, then do that.

Whats the problem?
The problem is I am still forced to pay for the public system, which I do not want to participate in and from which I recieve no benefit.

Please edit your post: “without enforcing the that on Doctors to be a part of it” is typo’d.

You are the one who mentioned those professions with scorn, not me.
Do you have any relatives on SS or Medicare?

No all of my friends and relatives work for a living. And I never once said that there should not be some sort of unemployment benefit. However, extending them for two years is nothing more than welfare renamed.
Aw to hell with it!

You are the one who drove that point home to us in your first few posts. Now that you’ve been called on it you want to forget about it huh?

that’s a shame because I don’t think that you claiming you have a phd will go away soon.

We don’t and we shouldn’t. The US gov’t is a representative republic. It was not founded as a democracy for very good reasons. I’d recommend reading The Federalist Papers. Particularly #10.

reddog6376,

garcia’s lust to know what each of us does for a living is actually pretty entertaining. We could lie to him like he did to us? Naw…more fun this way.

The only insult I’ve leveled against you is that you are ignorant. If a 3-rd party were to review this thread, I believe they woud come to the same conclusion. So it’s not so much as an insult as statement of fact.

Unlike most liberals, my opinions are not based on what I get it out of it, they are based on principles. Number 1 being freedom, no person should have a claim of the property of another.
This is why most people don’t engage the far right. You guys are so angry.
Say the angry professor…

Most liberals don’t engage the “far right” because liberals refuse to base their argument on facts. Instead they base their opinions on feelings and sympathies.

I am the CEO of a solar power company. Our profit is $40 million/year, $50 million of which comes from gov’t subsidies, the other -$10 million is operating costs, minus actual sells…

I am a 12th year graduate student studying Business Strategy at Penn State. It’s taken me a few years because I keep flunking my economics classes. That’s ok though, my Daddy keeps paying for everything, so I’m doing ok…

Then you won’t mind if I kill you, rape your women, and take all your belongings. After all, I have as much right to those things as you…

One of the more prejudiced statements Ive heard lately. Blue collar = Dumbass? And they live in nothingness…? Grow up.

And who is to determine need? You? Stephen Harper? Robert Mugabe? Me? Ok, me.

What !?!

You threw a tantrum, I thought it was cute.

I would probably rather life with red neck hillybilly illiterates than with Harvard educated people though, because a basic sense of decency and being true to your word goes a long way, thinking that rights are abritrary and you can lay your hands on other peoples stuf, not so much.
