IFBB-size arms when lean?
technically speaking if he has 23" arms and cut some fat there will have to be a point at which his arms measure 21.5. I mean that’s just math dawg.

I was really just being nice haha. Mine are about 23" after I lift. They’d get a little smaller if I cut some fat, maybe 21.5" or so. Just do your heavy training followed by 3-5 heavy, balls to the wall, bicep/tricep supersets with as little rest as possible. Vary the reps a lot, anywhere from 5-30 then eat like a mule. You’ll grow.
Wait, you actually believe you have IFBB-size arms when lean? I see…
I know, it’s pretty hard to believe that a guy on a website like T-Nation could have big arms.

I believe Mr Shore is suggesting that in bodybuilding contest condition you would have smaller arms than 21.5. I agree with that, and I think you would agree too, which is why you didn’t make that claim in the first place. All you said was ‘if I cut some fat they’d be 21.5’. That’s a significantly different claim, and is inherently true.

Nah, didn’t mean something as extreme as contest lean, but rather a true 10% bf. Point is, people horribly underestimate how much tape measurement they will lose when they go from very fat to actually lean. Remember that PX bloke?

Lol, just fond memories of the Prof. Actually if anything IS is following his advice more than any of us. He’s the fullest house here besides Loftearman.

I just need to do some damage control and I’m close to pretty lean. I mean people move the fuck out of my way in public when I enter the room. Also remember that I had an accident not so long ago.

So you would say you’re more of a sidewalk crackin mothafucka than a bonbon eatin mothafucka

Sumo Deadlift:
worked up to 5 plates is all; felt like crap
Did some curls and abs and hyperextensions
Been working till like 2am the last several days, diet and training have been just whatever I can get. But 10/15 is finally passed so I can get things back to normal.
Dips:
3 sets of 10 (low reps for me on dips, focusing on slow eccentric, explosive concentric, and pause at lockout)
Shoulder Press Machine:
3 sets of 10
Front Raise superset with Lateral Raise:
15’s for 7 sets of 12
I took 30s rest between everything, so by my quick calculation that’s 234 total reps with a cumulative rest time of 11 minutes for the entire workout.
It’s an interesting way to train; one that I’ve never explored before. I can see the drawback though of maybe not having enough rest do do a higher amount of weight or volume. There’s pros and cons, but it’s something I’ll play around with. I’ll probably refine my rest time as a training variable in the near future, this was just sort of an experiment with how it works to make that pretty much the priority.
Leg Press:
3 sets of 20 gonna see how my low back feels; usually leg presses mess it up, but I stayed leaned way far back and was really conservative with the ROM
Leg Curl:
3 sets of 10+
one set of partials to failure (partials at the leg extended range, not the curled up range)
Did a calves, abs, and neck circuit; 3 sets
This is only about 60% of where I want to get my leg days. I’m just in a poor mental state at the moment. Oct 15 was a huge work deadline and I was working like 16 hour days and then a couple days ago I dozed off at the wheel and sideswiped a guardrail so there’s a $500 deductible down the toilet and the bodyshop said they need my car for 2 fucking weeks so I’m just all pissed off right now and it’s more difficult than usual to keep my intensity and mood up. It’ll get back to normal in a little while.

What are you hoping to get out of your new style of training?
I’m mostly just taking a break from strict powerlifting. I am monitoring my diet much more closely than ever before, so I would like to actually build a bit more muscle before I go back to a strength focus.
I’m guessing you work in finance. An ex boyfriend had the same type of schedule every quarter and once drove his car into a ditch. Finance is dangerous work.
