HCG + Bac Water Mix

i have a 5000iu vial of hcg... how much bac water do I add to get 250iu dose per injection?

Not trying to jack this thread leonidas33 but since we are on the topic of HCG. Package insert says no longer good after 30 days when constructed. Does everyone follow this?

I would follow it.

I’ve also seen inserts that say la solucion se conserva durante 60 dias en refrigeracion.

Well, lets look at the maths.

It’s not ‘how much water do I add’, but also ‘what ml injection will give me the required dose’.

So lets say you use 1ml water. you now have 5000iu sitting in 1ml. so 0.1ml would give you 500iu.

Therefore 0.05ml would be equal to 250iu.

Now 0.05ml is pretty hard to administer, lo, so you might want to make up a larger solution. Lets say you make up the 5000iu in 5 ml of water.

Now you have 1000iu equal to 1ml. so 500iu would be 0.5ml, and 250iu would be 0.25ml.

Assuming you are using 1ml insulin pins, you would draw up to halfway between the ‘20’ and the ‘30’ to give you 0.25ml.

Got it?

heres how i do it… would it be correct??..

5000 / 250 = 20

I want each injection to be 10 units (on syringe), so… 10 X 20 = 200 units of bac water…

would this be the same way as yours? If so, is it better to have more units per injection? When I say units I am speaking of each individual mark on the insulin syringe… I am just not familiar with ml’s…

I use a 10,000 multi-dose vial at 250iu SC EOD. I keep it refrigerated and it takes me 80 days to use. I have not noticed any problems.

Typical strength is 1000iu/ml. I make up at 2000iu/ml and inject smaller quantities.

Math is simple at 1000iu/ml.
