HCG and mood, pathways, mechanism of action and the why?

Hey, so I understand HCG mimics LH in the body and stimulates the testes to produce testosterone, but what other mechanisms / pathways does HCG activate?

The reason I ask is because I have been on TRT without HCG for 2 years and I feel emotionally flat, not much joy, not much sadness, pretty stoic.

I recently added HCG and I feel really great on the day of the HCG jab and the next day, and then default back to a lower mood the following day.

So I am wondering what is the cause of this, is it an increase in E2 promoting neurotransmitter production? or does it activate other path ways which are relate to a sense of well being?

Does anyone have any scientific literature I could read on the mechanism of action of HCG on mood in males or more information on the effects on mood.

Thank you

There’s no studies looking at what hormonal pathways hCG activates, it’ll be pure speculation.

If hCG improves your symptoms, keep taking it daily.

This was my assumption. I would feel better the day after taking HCG, but then it all went away. So I can’t imagine it was an increase in neuro-steroids since that would hopefully last longer. But, I let e2 come up just a bit now and feel fine, so no HCG needed. Maybe that’s it

I can’t add anything to what you are asking but I’ve had the same experience with TRT and HCG. I’d like to see more on this as well.

The use of steroids can have an impact on men’s mood, including mood swings, depression and so on. Since hcg is often used as part of the steroid cycle, its effects on mood may be related to steroid use. There are also individual differences, physical and psychological characteristics are different from everyone.
