I’m sorry. Are you assuming I complain about immigration? I’m as liberal as they come dude. This fucking generalizing about large groups of people has to stop. Did you know that Dallas is more blue than red? You have no idea what you’re talking about man.
Yes, like 10-15 bucks an hour for house cleaning. Something in that range. I’ve had my house cleaned before, I know what it costs.
yes, women like me. It’s a 2 way street. I have to find the right one for me. And I don’t have to get married tomorrow. I’ve had wonderful experiences in relationships and the dating world. Doesn’t mean I’ve found the fit I want in a lifelong partner. NOt a big deal
Not only are quotas GROSSLY overstated, but we’ve got arguably the lowest unemployment rate in history. Absolutely nobody with half the skill needed to do a job has been out of work in the past 5 years without a very good reason.
Mostly drugs, from what we find.
Imo the look of a woman in fitness has never been closer to the top of the totem poll in how hot society thinks they are.
Not talking like bodybuilder freak, but if you put up various versions of proportions, the women that lift win pretty frequently.
My wife slightly outearns me. It’s pretty fuckin fantastic.
Sample size of 1 and all, but if the guy can set his ego aside (obnoxiously easy to do) and get a girl who will never throw it in his face (slightly less easy to do), it’s a piece of cake.
I’m with you on this one. There should be minimum maternity leave. Not like Poland level or any shit, but I’d be alright with 6 weeks.
Actually, it’s because most men still outearn most women. By a decent margin.
The wage gap SPECIFICALLY referencing a job means women aren’t earning that much less than their male peers, but the overall average still translates to a huge favor towards men in who earns more at home. It’s just math
I can hire a maid for 12-14/hr. I’ve done it once since I moved into my first home. It’s pretty great.
You forgot arbitrarily puts pink in his hair. It’s literally my favorite one on the list.
And just cuz you state you work in the staffing field… how often are those jobs actually paying well? I know we are in the lowest unemployment in ‘history’ but I know there are still tons of people that do not look for work, or that are still underemployed.
Are people actually getting paid more? I don’t see that.
You’ll have to go dig it out of his log or wherever he dropped it. Shit’s hilarious.
Completely agree they’re not keeping up with cost of living, but they’re peaked in history.
That being said I have a biased view. The vast majority of our clients are fortune 500 cos. Mine is a tech company so I’m a little extra biased. The pop/snack companies we service have wages a little on the lower side, because it’s mostly truck drivers, vending machine stockers, etc.
That’s correct. Unfortunately, at this time, the biggest driver to the “able to work but not looking” crowd is drugs. You have no idea how hard it is to find someone in TONS of towns in America that are unemployed AND can pass a drug test. Many states have literally become a poaching game, instead of a recruiting game.
Yes, they are. Just not quite as much as they’re spending more.
ALSO, dropping women from the workforce doesn’t solve the pay issue. The demand in workers going up would increase pay, but that increased pay is passed to the consumer in the form of higher prices. So now the people at the bottom, who were struggling to pay bills before, now have less average household income, and higher prices.
what are the entry level jobs that college kids are getting now? when I came out it was a disaster. would be interesting to see how it improve for everyone after us.
Eh all it did for the people hit by the recession was delay their careers. You’re typically looking at a 1-2 year delay on average pay. It hit everyone working in the time frame though, not just grads. You can see the slope in the first graph pretty clearly as it flowed down for a bit.
By now it’s completely recovered and then some. The real issue is wasteful spending, even during the recession 75% of it was wasteful spending.
I meant in terms of the economy being set up to benefit a small portion of the population the most with the working & middle class having to survive in much the same way they always have, but you’re right the economy of 2019 is vastly different than that of 1920, for example.
How many more jobs are there?
100% against.
I don’t really know what this means.
I’m not sure why you are emphasizing the gym? I just mean in general. If looks weren’t being emphasized more now than in the past I don’t think stuff like #nofilter would exist.
I think some will hate it. Some will love it. I think most will be neutral about it. Time will tell.
I mentioned up thread my wife makes more than I do. It’s been working for 12-years now without any problems.
I mean, I’m the one with kids… I don’t think supporting more maternity leave, which is fine, makes you a feminist. It just makes you in favor of larger entitlements and/or less freedom for employers and I disagree with both, generally.
In my experience, men do not want to support a woman either.
N=2, it’s fucking fantastic and I make pretty good money.
Another driver is that said folks often lack a skill set that would earn them more than their monthly welfare checks. Very few people are going to trade free money to work for less even though it could ultimately lead to them earning more in the future.
Another thing to consider regarding pay is that folks are working longer because they lack retirement or whatever. This stifles growth for younger people (and in some cases keeps them unemployed or underemployed) more than people realize.
I out-earned my husband for the first time last month. We were both pretty chuffed, though we don’t expect it to happen often. Still. Mo’ money = mo’ fun.
Maids here cost $20-$30/hr, with seemingly no correlation between work quality and expense. We currently have a mother/adult son team coming in every other week. We happily pay to not have to do it ourselves. I do the bulk of the upkeep between times, and am in charge of announcing that they’re coming tomorrow, we need to put our shit away. He’s happy, I’m happy.
Hahahahah, every guy I know who has a wife that makes more than them is happy as shit. I have 2 kids and a stay at home wife, and while I love things the way they are, I would absolutely love it as well if my wife made more than me. Seriously, being threatened by your wife making more than you is weak as shit.
Literally everything you say oozes of insecurity, rage, and fear. I think you are threatened by any women anywhere doing better than you in any way. And it’s all based on your “personal observations”. Please, tell me how many couples you know where the woman makes more than the man and it “isn’t very good”. That’s bullshit, it’s just you projecting your own fears. All this talk of what men are owed and what we deserve and how we’re crapped on and everything - it’s just so pathetic I could scream, and I’m past listening to this pseudo-intellectualism. Life never handed me a god damned thing and I’ve had to scrape together a living in spite of all the shit it’s hurled at me, but never have I felt like I was oppressed. Because men are not victims. I honestly want to vomit when I read this thread.
and what you guys want out of a mate is a dude lol. Seriously, most of you seem like you’d be better off with a guy. hahaha
I forget what comedian it was but the joke went something like “all I want from her is to look good and cook, everything else I can get better from my guy friend” lol
Liberals and conservatives might differ with regards to their views on homosexuality, but I think everyone agrees that banging your mom is way more of a no-no.
