I love philosophy, read a ton. Aristotle, Epictetus, Kant, Rawls, whatever, I am into it. Two years ago, I was reading Thus Spoke Zarathustra, and my roommate asked if it was any good. Told him I liked it a lot, made me think. Next day, I see him with a copy. My buddy, an impressively devout Catholic, had never read any philosophy prior, and did not know Nietzsche. I think he was traumatized by his foray into the subject… I blame myself. Great book, bad starting point.

Yes, in rural parts of America some traditions still hold. I agree with you. However, at large the influence is to turn away from that. I’m not sure why this is such a drastic idea i’m presenting when the evidence is out there.

I remember when I was in college reading pickup artists stuff. The real heart of all of it was the notion of presenting a package to women that is in some way unusual that sets you apart from all the other guys, and displaying value. You have to be funny, quick witted, smart, attractive, athletic, make good money. At least one of those things. Preferably a handful of them. The less value you present, the less you can expect in return. Relationships, at the end of the day, are largely transactional, always have been.

I assumed “dream girl” had the implied connotation of the perfect girl to each individual, a la ‘beauty is in the eye of the beholder’ because to you my dream girl may be a 7, or vice versa.
I think men are visual creatures (actually, I don’t have to think it, it’s a known fact backed by science), and therefore visual appearance will always be top priority unlike for most women they will settle for looks.
You can claim I am sexist here, maybe I am a little ‘sexist’ when it comes to this but so are you considering you do the scientific babe 1-10 scale ; )
Let me try and reiterate one of my main points again
I believe the current social climate pushing for a false sense of equality has led the dating landscape to be tilted too far one way and the consequences of this social experiment has given us movements like ‘incels’. Further, I am at odds with why women, in general, would want to be equal to men. Why they would want to kill themselves in the corporate world. The obsession with work is an American phenomena, which was once mainly male oriented, but now has become female focused and one not done by their own merits. This is a manipulation game that will not serve men nor women well in the future

Even today, you’re talking about all relationships. The vast majority of which fail. It’s the ones that think out the bigger picture beyond T&A that go the distance, not the other way around.

American work has not become female focused. In the vast majority of high paying fields/industries, women are still far and away less represented

You posted on a website devoted to training and self improvement. The regular posters here are masters of self control and goal oriented behaviour or they’re trying to learn it at (like me).
People here take goals seriously, usually in multiple areas of their life.
If your goal is to get an awesome spouse, then go be the absolutely most awesome person you can be. You’ll have to fend potential mates away with a stick.
