I guess video games do beat out most stuff.
I thought watch repair was geeky…
no takers on dungeons and dragons, no one will admitt it?
hmm what are Meats’ hobbies

I’ll claim the Dungeons and Dragons. Haven’t played in about 3 years but a few guys at work are thinking of starting up.
Also, Lord of the Rings Online…
Reading (Rowlings, King, whatever the wife has around…History - WWII, Military tactics, Templar/Teutonic/Hospitaler Knights/Orders, religious…and lots of network/Cisco books)
Gardening (veggies)
In the mix but not frequently enough…hunting, fishing and camping
Trying to raise well adjusted, well mannered, self sufficient children

Most of my other “hobbies” are in direct conflict with my working out and lifting heavy… things like boozing, whoring, blackjack, etc.
What the fuck, you only live once…
you must be single… anyway, I try to maintain all but the whoring on a certain level while bringing up the lifts. For some reason the wife says the powerlifting gear I buy makes the whoring un-affordable. Yeah, like a Titan shirt costs that much…

I played D and D once in my mid teens. Then I looked outside, saw a girl, and decided that hobby was done:)

I bet I win, I do SCA Medieval Renactment Combat…
I will now wait for the geek trophy.
That’s not geeky - it’s just strange.
J/k. I had a bunch of friends who were involved in it. Most banged-up group of people I knew, but very dedicated.
Rofl, thats pretty damn true. I don’t talk about it in my log but I almost always have 2-3 nasty bruises and an inflamed this or that. It really holds back my lifting sometime but theres no feeling in the world like meeting a guy one on one and taking him down.
I guess its like any other “fighting” sport in that regard.
Just an observation. This subject has brought more new people on board posting than any other. I guess I can claim anti-geek status. Last game I played was Wolfenstein under Windows 3.1 I think.

For all you alt-history/sci-fi guys out there: anyone think of Stirliing’s “Dies the Fire?”
Whoa, just busted the geek-meter with that comment.
Besides skating:
collecting first edition books
reading spy novels
war video games
taxi driving my daughter
at one time I was so addicted to D&D it wasn’t funny

Damn I’m a real history geek. I just finished Hamiliton. Now I’m diving back into the Federalist Papers
C’mon JW3, all of us radicals know that the Anti-Federalist Papers is where it’s at (or, should be)! ;)
HAHA Its kind of funny Steely, at least one of the authors was a Virginian from not far up the road from me. I dont know why I think today’s centeralized government is not what they were proponets for when they wrote the papers.

D&D in highscool sure, but war hammer?
really?
I cant get past that one… but Fischer is a big guy.

Smart ass. In all seriousness I love military history and Warhammer has the biggest following for gaming enthusists I also love imagery, so the models when well painted just enhance the expirience. Have you ever played Warhammer with adults - not kids - big difference. And alot harder.
I am ball busting, I have a few friends who do it, and they are strategists to say the least.
And yes when they are playing it its much different from the teen crowd.
If you really want to see geeky, joining a club for any kind of hobby is always a little scary,
with the watch repair stuff I do there are hundreds of people local to me who collect and repair the same kinds that Im into, little bit scary to meet them in person, its like a star trek convention.

The more you post in this thread the closer you’re coming to winning the geek award. You know way too much about this stuff. BTW, wasn’t Dr Manhatten suppose to be a watch repairman. Hmm…KMC(NYC), Manhatten? Coincidence? I love conspiracy theories, too.
