Has anyone ever dieted this way?

A suggestion that might benefit. Not such a large deficit (muscle be damned) but a reasonable deficit with weight training replacing insane amounts of cardio. Want to lose fat or just see the number on the scale drop?

Yes, it is. It is 4 protein shakes and a meal.

1,000 calories deficit? If so, my apologies. I don’t know OPs TDEE.

The V-diet does not use TDEE to set up. Just a rough guide. For myself it would be more than a 2000 calorie deficit.

I understand how it works; I know the VD does not use TDEE but you said it would be >1000 cal deficit and I don’t know if that would pertain to the OP. Consuming the shakes and having the HSM within the caloric range specified may not produce >1000 cal deficit for him. Because it puts you in a >2000 cal deficit has no significance.

Nothing like a hit and run post.

Hey,

So, this was not a hit-and-run post, like the father who screwed your mother and once she got pregnant, never returned again and let the milkman take care of you; this is more like my father, who screwed my mother, left us when I was born, and now-and-then drops by with a shitty christmas present or a birthday call once every two years, saying how he regrets what he has done. Like fuck he does.

So here I am, saying how I regret that I didn’t reply to this thread sooner, I was busy. (Busy replying to other threads in other forums, as my father was busy fucking every woman in a 500 km radius.)

In hindsight, in a nutshell, in retrospect, in conclusion, in whatever the fuck else you can think up, this was not the best idea. Tried it for a couple days, and yes, the (slight) benefits didn’t outweigh the negatives. Even when I ate, I felt hungry really soon after I had finished. As one person pointed out, the hunger was still always there. But I appreciate the replies, thanks everyone.

So now you have become your father.
In all seriousness, you didn’t reply because you didn’t like what others said as it didn’t match your thought process.
Now, back with tail between legs, i’m sure there is another post coming.

You tried it. That’s cool.

You reported back. That’s cool.

Fist Bump.

I burn almost 1,000 calories in a 1-hour class at orangetheory.

You tried it for a couple of days? Then you didn’t really try it. Seriously bro…

how are you measuring this?

what is your ht and wt?

will you post a pic?

Measuring it the same way everyone measures calorie burning. They also do it for me, but it’s solid.

I’m not a pic poster. Not that guy. You’ll have to trust me.

I got into really bad shape in my 30s. Call it my lost decade. Got up to 230 lb. Had been working and getting back into shape for several years when I found orangetheory. I walked in there weighing 187. I’m 6 ft tall. So I really wasn’t that far from where I should be and I didn’t think I would have much of a chance of losing the last bit of fat around my gut because at my age, 48, I just figured I’d have to live with that. I ended up dropping another 20 lbs. Got down to 7% body fat.

I did that without losing muscle mass. Even gained a little bit. Not a lot, very difficult to do that when you’re shedding that kind of weight.

The downside to orangetheory is that it’s expensive. Or at least that’s what everyone tells me. I don’t mind. I will spend my extra money on being a healthy badass. For me that’s a no brainer

Inaccurately? Wild guesses?

I genuinely don’t know of any effective way to do this.

Heartbeat monitor and math. They do it all for you

Have you ever heard of whoop?

I have! I haven’t heard of it being very accurate.

right

none of it is very accurate.

The calories you are eating for example: the method they use to determine this seems illogical considering how you digest food, and even then how much of those calories do you actually absorb and how much to you return to the world the following day?

It is not an exact science, but I suspect you are better equipped to make an educated guess than most people. As am I.

If you struggle with cardio for any reason; It is hard, or it is boring, I recommend OT. It has been a game changer for me.

and NO, I do not work for them. Just love the results and know that a lot of bros do not know about this place. Spreading the word

Fully agree. This is why I don’t count calories. I think it’s a silly thing.
