Tabata.
Grab a couple of light dumbells, hold them to your shoulders. Squat as fast as you can for 20 secs, rest for 10. Repeat 7 more times.

hardest workout ever is the first workout after an extended layoff. That may be tied with the second workout after a layoff if it is the next day

Tabata thrusters are an ego crusher, that is for sure. The first time I tried them I grabbed 25 pound dumbells, thinking I was going light to break myself in on Tabata. Boy, that was a mistake.
Lower body-Circa max box squat 425 with Green and blue bands for 6 sets of 2. Harder tog et off floor than after 20 rep squats
Upper body-10 sets of 3 in BP edges out Sheiko BP marathon. Bad feeling to work so hard and still have 2 sets left.
GPP-Truck Pushing, Sled Pulling, Weighted lunges, Tire flipping in the South La heat with Jesse Kellum. Sick, just sick.
Yea, I know it was stupid. To be honest I was influenced by an internet personality on another site whom I thought was awesome who has claimed to have done this.I think I was 17, and it took me nearly 2 1/2 hrs to finish. And no my form did’nt get really bad after the first 10. I was sure to, like he said “complete every rep perfectly”. If my for got fucked I dropped a bit of weight. It was like 70% to failure I would say. It was pretty bad , I did’nt make it to 100 and I believe that I have some of the best mental strength of people I know…and no I don’t think it did an ounce of good.
The leg routine in the first Arnold Encyclopedia. The 1-10 method on the leg curls put me over the top. I puked right in front of three old ladies by the water fountain. I guess they shouldn’t have put the trash can there.
My hardest workout was when my MMA coach was gone for the day, and one of the senior fighters took over class. It started off fine, with the usual rope jumping for rounds while he would call off either 10 pushups or 10 squat hops periodically.
After this however, we did the “German 50” (10 normal, 10 extra wide, 10 star, 10 side-to-side, 10 diver) then 5 sets of squat variations. Then we planked for about 5 minutes, while counting down in pushups from 20 to 5 in sets.
We did technique work with the mits for 10 minutes, which was nice.
To finish off the first half of class we did this drill:
sprint across the mats and back 10 times, then 100 punch ups (jab/cross is one), 50 sit ups. Down and back 9 times, then 90 punch ups, 45 sit ups. Counting down to 1, 10 and 5 respectively. I was too tired to puke.
Grappling was considerably easier as we had half an hour of technique work to rest in, then the rest was flow grappling.
Not a fun experience, but the upshot is that training scince has been easy.
The other worst workout was one time as a “finisher” we did the down and back sprint, then 100 punch ups, then sprint and counting down by 10’s to 10. Then we did the same with kicks but starting with 30 and counting to 5. Then the same with skip knees. Blargh.

Believe it or not, it was the last arm workout in the bigger arm challenge:
weighted 20lbs chin
50 seconds up, 40 seconds down;
curls 11 reps with 60 lbs;
weighted 20 lbs negative only chin
5, then dropped the weight and did 4 more.
weighted 20 lbs dip
45 seconds up, 20 seconds down;
extensions 8 reps with 35 lbs;
weighted 20 lbs negative only dip
4, then dropped the weight and did 4 more.
It was craziness.
Lol…
i know… how fucking stupid does it get? bigger arms in two weeks? only if you’ve never trained them before!
I almost thought I was going to agree with hueyOT for once, but my fears were allayed. I do think that a person can make a visible change in his or her physique in two weeks - just not with that particular program. A high frequency program such as Quattro Dynamo would probably work. But four workouts won’t cut it.
ok look, i’m not gonna disagree that progress is progress whether or not it’s year to year, month to month, or day to day.
but it’s just dumb to think that you can make considerable gains in a given muscle group over the course of a two week time frame if you’re not a noob.
[/quote]
just look at the energy expenditure required. if you read poliquins articles its 15 lbs per inch, so dardens saying that permanent muscle size changes can be seen in 2 weeks, ok lets see 14 days to gain 15 lbs, or a little less, lets go with the high end, there are 600 kcals in a lbs of muscle, but you need lets say at least 2k kcal to have that extra 600 to build muscle. soo 15lbs of muscle times 2000 equals 30000 kcal, divide that by 14 and those are the extra kcal needed to gain that muscle. so there telling us that all these athletes are eating an extra 2150 kcal a day, not to mention someone with appreciable size is at a maintenance level of 4 to 5k, so the athlete that is going to gain this weight is gonna have to consume 6 to 8k kcal a day, hmmm, yeeeahhh right my buuuttt

i’m not kidding when at one point my eyes were tearing up, it was’nt because it hurt in fact I was numb half way through it, but I was just like stumbling and had no morale by the 50 st marker, thats prolly why I did’nt make it to 100, I know i’m a quitter.
This could be the dumbest workout I have ever seen. Did you also try the getting hit with a bat workout or the running in to a wall extreme training session?

petrainer, why are u saying this crap. Everyone is different, so why cant he try something insane. crazy results need crazy methods to achieve them. ever heard of john michela, john defendes, they routinely did 50 to 70 sets per bodypart and they were both monsters. so did roy callendar. everyone is different and its not cool to put someone down just because you dont agree with there training methods

Beacuse a workout like this is more dangerous than anything else. Even with steriod use you could cause serious long term damamge to yourself if you tried to do this much volume. Just doing a routine like this one time would be silly and to do it long term is unthinkable.
Look at the volume of sets. Think of the time it would take to do this.
A couple come to mind right away, that I’vce seen mentioned already …
20X400 meters on the track , in July, in the Midwest … guaranteed puker.
Putting up 2000 bales of hay, from the field … snakes and poison ivy make it worse.
I did 12 weeks of German Volume Training at the end of last summer. It felt like I had been in a car wreck for the first 2-3 weeks.
But #1, for my money was humping two 50 lb packs, and a 22 lb radio over 25 miles of beautiful Camp Pendleton, CA. And it was on a dare. I got nothing out of it cept bragging rights, and two severely strained groins.
Vince Gironda’s 8x8 on legs.
Some of these are really interesting, just did the same workout again and felt faint, only one more week and i have completed it xD!

I have 2 persoanl train certifications, and am sitting for the CSCS in August. But I don’t hold certifications in high regard so more importantly:
Ive been training people for over 15 years. I have trained over a thousand people.I have worked with clients that play in the NHL, NFL and MLB and pro wrestlers. I have trained people on the Duke Diet and Fitness program and the Rice Diet.
I myself have competed as a body builder, powerlifter and now in strongman competitions. My current goal is to get a NAS pro card in the next 2 years.
I know what I am doing. That much volume will casue joint damage over even a short period of time.
On my last cycle (1g Test/wk, 600mg EQ/wk, 75mg tren A/day 50mg dbol/day, 50mg proviron/day) I woke up one Sat morning around 3am extremely pissed off about my life and wanted to release the energy… My gym is open 24hours/day, so, I went down there and decided to do legs… I literally went psychotic and my workout went a little like this…
-1x50 Squats with 225 (to be honest, my last 8 reps were pretty shitty)
I had to rest about 5 minutes b/c the Tren A/EQ pump was IN EFFECT!!!
-1x26 Squats with 315 (last 4 reps were pretty bad) 2-3 minutes rest
-1x15 Squats with 405
3 minutes rest
-1x9 Squats with 495 (my last 5 reps were pretty shitty)
3 minutes rest
-1x12 Romanian Deadlift 315
Puked for 2-3 minutes
-1x7 R DL 405
-Alternating lunges all the way around the perimeter of the gym 2 times.
Puked for 2-3 minutes
I, then, went home and drank so much water that I filled my stomach all the way up and I was literally throwing up cold, clear water…
I was unable to hold any food down for 12-16 hours…
That was, by far, the hardest workout I’ve ever completed.
I have also tried Meltdown I when it was first introduced and I remember it being EXTREMELY difficult…
I’m definitely looking forward to hearing some replies from some of the gurus in here…

Jesus that is a LOT of juice. How much did you gain on that cycle?
The hardest workout: I went to the gym and told myself I was going to squat until I puked. I proceeded to squat until I puked. I think I ended up getting in eight sets of 15-20 reps. I finished with abs and left.
I’ll also say that 5x10 at 10RM deadlifts was pertty tough. I was pretty out of it for a while after that.
Upper body never seems to get to me much. I can superset pretty much anything with little rest and I’ll just get tired. But when I throw in the heavy leg exercises like squats or deads I start to get ill.

Same with me. Even the heaviest upper body exercises dont seem to cause the level of whole body fatigue like heavy legs will. Ya gotta love the squats and deads.
I didn’t gain a pound, I actually netted a 4lb loss. My bodyfat went from a little over 16% down to single digits. I gained an inch on my arms, chest, and calves and really capped out my shoulders.
In the last two months I’ve easily added back 4% b/f because I just started a new career and it’s very time consuming. It takes money to grow… ![]()
Yeah, the leg workouts are definitely the ones that’ll make ya ill… I’ve tried to make myself puke training arms, but I don’t think it’s physically possible… I have had some pretty brutal back work outs… Then again, those involved deadlifts so…
JC-Damn man, I think you’ve got me beat there… lol
