Tony Pearson, especially around 56 seconds into the video. Also his abdominal muscles are exceptionally 3 dimensional, for lack of a better way of explaining it. Anyone know much about this guy?
Never heard of him, which is not really suprising considering his legs, and especially calves.
I agree that his legs are lacking in development. His upper body has some good aspects, as well as poor ones.
Very cool vacuum.
I’d love to see more of today’s guys do that, but I kinda doubt they could.
I just couldn’t help but think of a jacked up Michael Jackson watching that. I think his upper body is awesome. Yet his legs really disappoint.

He was 1978 Mr. America and was indeed referred to as “Michael Jackson with muscles”.
Keep in mind this was the 80’s He is pretty fucking big, they didn’t use absurd AAS like today’s comparators. His legs are pretty good, just seems to lack due to his huge upper body, IMO.
I think the old school BB’s look better than most of todays, they are more aesthetic and look more like an athlete.
These days people are just massive close to 300lb in contest shape…there is a point where “too big” dosen’t look good. Frank Zane is a prime example.

What is a comparator? And how do you know today’s bodybuilders take massive amounts of steroids?
vacuum so much you can see the vertebrae of his back through the front of his abdomen, that’s sick!!!
i joke

First of all they do. All of them.
Second of all, they did PLENTY of fucking juice in the golden era too, dont buy into that shit that they just used for cutting.
The certainly werent throwing down the insulin and GH and 4-5 different drugs easy.
But they were hitting some pretty serious androgen loads.
Today its all about size, back then it was more about your look.

His upper body isn’t huge in comparison to other competitors. When he does the vacuum from the side, it just highlights that he has very little thickness. He can just make his waist tiny and the contrast looks cool. His whole routine is built on the vacuum though.
And if I wanted to look like an athlete, I’d go play basketball.
I’ll that agree his legs look kinda small, but also notice his proportions – his height is all leg! (This isn’t a free pass on that, just mentioning it.) Also note how thin his forearms look; same deal, the bone is really long, makes them look small.

and how do you know that they did not take INSANE amounts of AAS back in the day, when it was seen as ok and not so illegal.

That’s funny, because the phrase that popped into my head when I saw him was “Michael Jackson” even though I watched the video on silent and didn’t hear “Billie Jean” playing the first time through.
Did I ever state that they didn’t?

Tony was competing back in the 70s and 80s. I remember reading about him in Muscle Builder. At one point he went the Michael Jackson route and got a bit of facial reconstructive surgery. Ended up looking like Michael Jackson.
His legs always held him from the very top, so he briefly went into entertainment wrestling as “Tony Atlas”.
