Happy Marriages/Relationships

Yes. The news and entertainment media largely shape public opinion, tell people how to behave, all that. Their minds are made up for by them. They shape reality.

For several decades, in the entrainment media, husbands and fathers are pictured as squares and chumps, divorce is cool, marriage is a drag, kids are a drag, cheating is thrilling, one can get rich by doing very little while acting like a clown, and so on. Other trend setting ideas and portrayals are common but I’m not going into them here.

I say most of what has shaped the divide between the sexes is by the media.

You guys ever uhhhh… ever play Metal Gear Solid 2? This is pretty much all if the subject matter.

Once again, I have to disagree. I’ve dated submissive preps, and lackadaisical hippies, and my girlfriend now is very calm. But shes cold, calculated, and will literally die a martyr on any hill she believes in. While it can be incredibly frustrating at times, it’s extremely… powerful for literally a lack of a better term, and that shit gets me going.

I also believe this terrible wave of feminisism and “strong independent women” is a bit over the top and usually greatly overstated by women who literally cant pay their own bills or open a pickle jar… however, a truly mentally formidable woman is fucking hot.

*editing to clarify this is completely subjective and in no way to alter your thought, other than the statement “who wants that”

I’ve never heard of it. I haven’t played a video game in about fifteen years.

My wife and I want to get a gaming system.

I don’t anything about modern games. I loved arcades in the late 80’s and early 90’s.

Its a very… “woke”… game

Media implementing trends to enforce the new trend, not the other way around; memes being the format to which they can “soften” the population at large and mass spread information that fits their agenda; generally setting the rules to make a much more docile population in which they can manipulate millions at a time through various media influences…

That game is a work of art that is more relevant today than when it dropped 20 years ago.

I’m not a big conspiracy theorist, and I typically am not politically charged. But I do like to keep up with current events and find the subject matter almost too accurate to be false. It just fit right in with the subject matter of mass populace manipulation through media.

I didn’t gloss over it, I told you it was an incorrect observation. And tag me next time, or else I wouldn’t have had the chance to respond.

What, you want to be your wife’s emotional caretaker? That gets old really quick. But, I neglect to account for the fact that you’d prefer to date a woman who believes you’re her ultimate superior, so I guess you do want to take on that role.

Being emotionally inept, this sounds like a personal hell. Filled with many “there, there’s” and distant fatherly pats on the shoulder.

Lol, it’s weird that needed to be said. I wanted a partner not a dependapotamus.

Who the hell wouldn’t want a strong woman.

This place is fucking weird some times.

Conservatives have been saying this until they were blue in the face for 30+ years, and was part of the reason Roger Isles came up with Fox.

The time is so ripe for a conservative film industry, I’m shocked some studios haven’t popped up.

@usmccds423

we’re gonna bog down again on semantics

Oh yeah, I absolutely heavily lean right, but it’s due to actual personal interest and experience. Pretty much summed up in Government Control=Bad; Freedom=Good. Nothing to do with red v blue, or some arbitrary desire to maintain conservatism at all costs including self respect. I actually think Trump is a fucking bumbling baffoon, but that’s just due to personality traits.

The joke was in poor taste and I apologize for adding to the proverbial dogpile that generally happens to you.

I also want to say that it’s clear you’re able to have a normal discussion when the other party doesn’t immediately resort to personal attacks, which is respectable. I think it would benefit you to ignore or not retaliate when others do resort to personal attacks, however.

How is what one observes on a daily basis a theory? It isn’t. If one sees anti-male sentiment in news, entertainment, and social media, then a conspiracy exists. That’s aside from even industrious and well-earning women who complain about a pay gap or some other male-female debacle.

I have a well-to-do former classmate who works in Manhatran real estate and is married to an economist. Though I have no clue about strangers’ finances, it’s reasonable to assume they’re doing fine and have a high quality of life. They live on the Upper Westside. I once watched a YT video in which she was interviewed and discussed a male-female issue in the workplace. I thought to myself, “Is this a Goddamned joke?!” I don’t know what such people want or expect.

Are you calling him a boy lover!??!
