Hitler’s birthday?
In my country, this day is no different from others…
And goddamn I like that!

I was watching a debate over legalization (on PBS of course) and the police officer they had on to defend keeping it illegal really looked like an ass. He kept comparing it to cocaine, and saying that allowing American adults to buy marijuana in liquor stores will have NO effect on the current drug war in Mexico. He kept saying “legalizing it is just like going to an elementary school and handing it to children.” Last time I checked, dealers don’t ask for an ID.
Do you think it could be legalized, and effectively regulated similar to alcohol?

Yes, yes, and yes. I would definitely sit and discuss economic marijuana policies, but I’m not high, and I need to study for my last final of the semester. If someone else wants to get it started (more,) I’d be more than happy to chime in a bit later…

Yes. The problem is that there are too many people that profit from it while it is illegal, including that block-head cop who doesn’t understand basic economics.
The funny thing is that most of the lobbying for regulation comes from the legal industrial complex…and of course the dealers like it that way too so they don’t have to work as hard as everyone else. Who can blame them?
I can’t imagine that it would be any more difficult to regulate than alcohol and legal pharmacy drugs. Let’s not even talk about how big-pharma profits from the war on drugs. You know how many drugs could be replaced cheaply by cannabis? Talk about protectionism.
Funny thing is,Yesterday was 4/21 and more kids were passed out and stoned out of their minds then than 4/20. I go to a Art Institute so I guess thats why there’s so many stoners.
Missed it.
I hope next year I can make it into Vancouver for the big smoke-up.

I think Big Brother stands to lose too much, by making marijuana legal.
Realistically, it won’t, but not for the reasons he thinks.
The pot for the entire West Coast and most of the Southwest is homegrown…as is a sizable chunk of the Midwest (though their shit is mostly weak). Any smuggling that goes on in other states is mostly inter-state as opposed to international.
A small, simple grow room requires a very small investment of time, energy and $$$ and can make lots of dough in short order. It’s easier to just grow it here and move it back and forth instead of smuggling shit across the border. Hence, most of what us Yanqui’s get is 100% prime USDA bud.
Some of the more retarded outdoor grows you see (“Hey, let’s plant in a national park where it’s extremely likely to attract attention! ORALE!”) are indeed done by cartels, but for the most part they just move powder and tar and have lots of meth labs.
The po-lice like to make it seem like the weed we smoke is grown and distributed by some sort of Pablo Escobar-type operation; but the reality is it’s just folks like you and me growing, selling and smoking it.
(That’s not to say there aren’t some skeevy motherfuckers slinging out there, but for the most part they’re all more Jim Breur than Tony Soprano).

I STRONGLY disagree with this statement. it is very expensive and time consuming to build and maintain a grow room that will yield “lots of dough in short order.”

LOL. No man, it’s not. At all.
yes it is. Lights (very expensive), nutrients(can be a shit load$$), soil, fans, filters(very expensive), ballasts, thermostats, pH and ppm pens, containers, magnifying glass, I can keep going.

Sure bud, whatever you say.
Have fun with that whenever you decide to do it.
Growing good bud in large quantities to make it financially worth while is difficult especially when it needs to be kept secret.
Growing a plant for personal consumption is a different matter altogether.
An SOG set up properly can give you a pound of bud in a matter of weeks and would cost you between $400-$1200 to set up, depending on how much space you have. Unless it’s schwag or stress, a pound of bud, ESPECIALLY sold direct will yield several thousand dollars depending on the strain and potency…and meanwhile you have more bud growing.
You give me a closet, a bathtub and a kitchen pantry and I’ll make you $25,000 in about 3-6 months.
All this-
is not even slightly necessary for a small to medium sized grow operation unless you plan to run a $50,000 hydroponics setup along with it, hack into city power lines and sell a million dollar crop…none of which is particularly good idea unless you have plenty of contacts and absolutely none of it is traceable back to you. Either that or you’re growing some pretty exotic medicinal strain. Next you’ll be telling me about how CO2 is a must if you plan to grow shit indoors, right?
Fluorescent lights are a cheap replacement and work almost as well, you should make your own compost if you’re doing a simple soil grow (which is what I would recommend 9 times out of 10 anyway), don’t need much in the way of ventilation or cooling for a small grow if you’re discreet, PH meters are not that bad and you’re seriously telling me a MAGNIFYING GLASS is expensive?
KISS is the watchword for small grows and yes, you can go very far indeed with “small” grows.
I think you misunderstood me on two points; what constitutes a “small grow” and what a lot of money is. In any case I’m not a grower, I’m just familiar with the procedure having been on the sticky end of things from my late teens to my early 20’s. Not proud of it but I made some money and I learned a lot.
first time yesterday, fun fun but not what i expected, does it get better? LOL ![]()

First time smoking weed? Depends on what kind of weed you were smoking, how you smoked it (joint, blunt, bong, vaporizer etc.) and mental state.
It will get better because you know what you’ll be up against and how you’ll act when high, but the feeling won’t change that much (unless you switch to smoking other types and strains).

For some reason everyone I know complains it sucks the first time. I think it’s usually a learning curve for actually smoking, seeing most haven’t smoked ciggis before, and hence don’t know how to actually get enough into their lungs.

Yeah, most new guys complain about that. It’s that there actually is a learning curve to smoking. When you smoke more you learn to take bigger hits and hold the smoke in longer and you take it into your lungs better.
Here’s a tip, when you take a drag, take it all into your mouth and hold it there. Then open your mouth and quickly take a deep breath through your mouth, if you do it correctly, no smoke should escape from your mouth and it should go deep into your lungs. Then just start practicing on holding it as long as possible.
