Hallowed: Jackin Yo T!

I just had labs but they were done to see where I was at with the armour I was on for 6 weeks. She also checked some vitamins/ferritin again. She wants to see if there is a reason WHY I am Rt3’ing
I think she is on the right track with adding cytomel and not MORE t4.

The fog is lifting…the heart palps are disappearing. My mood is better…I’m sleeping better but I’m still left with headaches and tiredness when the t3 wears off. And I sometimes forget to take it(oops) and end up an hour off schedule wondering why I’m so tired. OH! I forgot to take my pill…duh.
Thinking about asking for the slow releasing kind.

My appt is supposed to be next week to go over labs and get an EKG and I was supposed to have gotten an u/s done but my regular Dr never put the referral in shakes fist

And then of course she’ll want labs and yet another appointment after I’ve been on the T3, next month sometime.

So don’t go crazy with the cardio yet?? :frowning:
Makes sense though.

If I were you I wouldn’t want anymore T4! I’d want her to keep increasing T3 only. Can you ask her about writing your script for a compounding pharmacy? Compounding pharmacy can compound it slow release so you only have to take it once a day thats what i get and it is WAY BETTER! My pharmacy is called drugtown (lol it is so funny to getmail from drugtown) but I bet there is a compounding pharmacy somewhere in your state. ASK FOR THE SLOW RELEASE FOR SURE!

Today was squat day for me too…

Ouch.

Hai there!

Thanks for sharing your story - really inspirational. Kudos to you for staying positive and motivated despite all the factors that were outside your control. Gives me more ammunition to kick my own ass into gear!

Btw, no clue what y’all are talking about with the blonde vs. dark hair, but I’m here to represent the gingers since we don’t seem to be getting any love.

Very inspirational story! Glad everything worked out. Some people would have just quit altogether after losing only 5 pounds in 12 weeks. That was me when I started working out with IH regularly. After 4 months or so I’d only lost like 5 pounds. My diet was shit though, so that prolly accounted for the lack of pounds lost, but I know my body comp was changing.

I have a question about food. I had asked you if you cooked and your answer was a resounding “HELL NO!!!”. So, how were you able to follow a diet/meal plan without cooking? Did Erik Ledin give you a plan that was noncookable (if that makes sense)? Do you cook now or still buy food from Trader Joe’s and the like?

Great to see that whole story. That is quite the journey. It is pretty terrible how bad endocringlogists can be. I went through 5 doctors so far trying to get someone to treat the synmptoms and not the lab results. Its crazy to think how much research I have done yet i swear i know more than these doctors and i havent even got to medical school yet. It really hits home when i see so many others on this site that struggle with the same thing. I started treatment over a year ago with some of the same symptoms. I could barely get myself to classes and work and my body temp was 96 or 95 all day long. And i am still stuck at the bottom range of normal of T3 and just recently was finally at least perscribed T3/T4. For a year i was T4 only and T3 levels never moved.

Sorry for injecting my own deal. Its great to see you have a good doc. HOpefully you can continue to get closer to getting at those optimal levels. But as long as the symptoms are getting better that is one positive.

Also nice job on the squats. It was my squat day as well today. You are gonna be moving more weight than me soon i gots to pick it up.

Walking is for digestion; everything else “cardio” does, weight-lifting does better. BF% is mainly about diet (assuming proper thyroid hormones).

Sustained Release T3 from a compounding pharmacist is the best form of thyroid for me by far. The immediate release T3 from the same pharm was not working for me at all. (Had already tried synthroid, armour, and nature-throid.)

Once a month is good til you get stabilized; then she’ll probs drop it to once ev 6 mos.

Selenium is the basis of the enzyme that converts T4 to T3; even in non-hypo peeps, “excessive” iodine intake is usually just selenium deficiency http://perfecthealthdiet.com/?p=3621

I’ll just leave this here.

Here’s a real “thinker” for ya! lol

Read your story… OMG!!! So much good shit happening in this area. Way more inspirational than the guy’s logs. You’re truly amazing Hallowed. I’ll keep the memes coming!

I beg to differ on the cardio. There’s evidence that both cardio and weight training are necessary. But glad things are coming together mim!

That sucks…I went through several Dr.s who all came up with the same BS…
It seems you gotta go on the outside and pay on your own to get legit care which is sad.

So walking an hour+ a day 7 days a week vs NOT walking at all isn’t going to aide in anything more than digestion?
I’m not sure what that second part means. I got my test back and I don’t think it’s low, so that’s good right?

I think Hall was meaning that until I get more stable on the right amount of meds no amount of crazy cardio will do me any better than just keeping it basic for now. Unleash the crazy-ness when I’m close to optimized.
Right, Hall??

Oh mim, I totally agree. You need to make those decisions based on YOUR health, and YOUR body. I was just politely disagreeing with Jeffrey of Troy. I used to believe lifting was sufficient for all my exercise needs. My own experience and research indicate this is not true, and that some general cardio-esque or conditioning work is quite useful.
/hijack Hall. Need more lols.

oh I used to think the exact same. Screw cardio me lift weights. pounds chest like Tarzan

Okay so me not cooking is a total exaggeration. I cook egg white pancakes, EGGS, and also will cook meat. That is exactly what it sounds like. Buy two pounds of ground chicken breast and cook it. Buy two pounds of lean ground beef and cook it. Then I just use that 4oz or so at a time for my meals. So more accurately I don’t cook RECIPES or MEALS. Yes I do buy TONS of pre-cooked food at Whole Foods or Trader Joes. I am at Whole Foods probably four nights a week. I refer to WHole Foods as my “wifey”

I am SO LUCKY that I found and have been able to pay the thousands of dollars to get treatment at Holtorf. I actually was paying out of pocket for the Endo too. She was on Mary Shalom’s Top Docs list. Um,NO. I guess some patients must have liked her because she is NICE and LISTENS. Still she ended up directing my treatment based on TSH! Ridiculous. Its a long fucked up journey and absolutely INFURIATING to me. Like seriously I GET FURIOUS. T3 is the shit. T3 is where its at and I am so stoked to get so much of it with no one waving crappy ass Synthroid in my face. YAY!

synthroid made me feel what it might feel like to die a slow death.

And the more I took year after year the more of my life was takin.

GAH!!! MY MULTI QUOTES GOT ALL FUCKED UP… SEPARATING. Um, pic unrelated to THIS POST

My best fat loss periods have always involved the inclusion of cardio. Of course I HATE Metabolic style lifting. Maybe metabolic circuits are just as good as HIIT. Dunno, don’t do em LOL. You have mentioned iodine before. I DO TAKE IODINE supps from my doc because they TESTED mine and I am deficient. Agree regarding re-testing etc.

I’m kinda gingery…with a freckle face.
