Hallowed: Jackin Yo T!

so if you can’t lose weight when not optimized why bother with the diet like cals? Is it so at least you don’t GAIN weight??

Because when it’s time and your body starts losing months later on cals you’ve already been low in, then what??Which is what I think I’ve done to myself. Eating pretty low cal for years and now ready to ditch these pounds. So now I have to work HARDER and eat STRICTER?

grumblestupidbrokenmetabolismsgrumble

Wait, you don’t have Hashi’s right?? So the T3 crapping out on you was all stress/adrenal/training??
How normal is that to continually need T3 increases?? If the adrenals are good then doesn’t the thyroid play along?
I thought that was only common in Hashi peeps.

Friggin’ brilliant. Determination is the name of the game. You didn’t give up and sought out answers at all costs. Good for you.And the pic you just posted is the proof in the pudding - absolutely beautiful.

I lost over 100 pounds myself and know how difficult/frustrating it can be. Only I cannot blame a sickness or anything. I got fat of my own doing. Regardless, it takes a tremendous amount of self-awareness to realize a change needs to be made, intelligence to come up with a game plan, and determination to see it through. Kudos to you.

Great story and with all due respect, great body.

And thanks for sharing your story.

I’m determined to lose this weight THE RIGHT WAY…no crash dieting. That can’t be good for an already suppressed thyroid.

you give me HOPE!!!

I do not know enough of the background, Mom, to offer any specific advice, but I would like to say that if this is truly the case then continuing to cut calories might not be the best answer. You might consider/research what would be entailed in rebuilding your metabolism.

WOw, so much respect for you and so proud that you finally shared that on your log for all of us to read/learn.

And you know there’s probably 100 lurkers a day on here that could get something really valuable out of that post.

Awesome stuff man!

I DO lose weight when not optimized. I have NEVER been optimized. I can lose weight when my FREET3 starts getting towards the middle of the lab range. Optimized would gbe higher than that even. And yes even during that time I gained weight while dieting if I had NOT been dieting it would have been even worse and I would have gained much more. At least that is what I believe. I only changed my dieting calories TWICE.

It is not the same as a regular dieter. A “regular” dieter who starts with very low calories say 1200, when they plateau they have nowhere to go (or they have to go lower than that which is cray). For thyroid patients or at least MY experience that I believe will translate to YOU, I was already dieting. The changes that needed to take place were with my incoming thyroid. I didn’t plateau and need to drop cals or add exercise. It was changing the hormones/ increasing incoming T3 that avoided plateau. I got all the way down to 137LBS on around 1500calories a day. I had been on the 1500 calories a day since about 175LBS.

NO HASHIS THANK GOD.

Why did my T3 tank? A variety of reasons but the main one was the adrenal burnout and THAT was due to stres. HIDEOUS emotional stress coming at me from three separate directions for a period of months and months and months.

Pic unrelated.

YOU ARE GOING TO DO THIS. It is going to happen. The worse is behind you believe it or not. You made it through that… and I know how truly wretched it is. Consider this your final push. I got your back girl.

I pretty much agree MiMs but then you know I never hold back LOL. As I posted in your log I would like you to stay about 1200 per day. HELLA LIKE YOU TO!!!

Aww Spock you’re such a sweetdoll. I guess its worth it then. I got SO MUCH help on the internet for my thyroid. I’ve said it before but the internet kinda really saved my life. I would have liked to tell my story myself my own way when I chose to but have to believe it happened now for a reason. HUGZ FOR YOU GIRLIE!

Okay I’ll try. I just recently got a camera camcorder that works decently… totally not sure where I would set that up to vid bench but I will try!

I cant decide which I like more about you…being stupid hot o retarded funny

Thank you for posting your story - a lot of people would have given up after the BFL disappointment but you hung in there and didn’t give up even when things got pearshaped. And I have to say, the last photo is fucking gorgeous. (I better had buck up my ideas by June eh?!)

I never never never give up.

Gorl I’m using June as motivation to stick with my diet. I can’t look all fat in pics with yoU! Pearshape… LULZ to say the least!

The key to success, as you have obviously figured out, is to give everyone who says you can’t do something a great big cup of STFU.

Then grind it in their faces when you do.

MY Hallowed. Thank you for sharing your story…you are fucking solid in my heart for sure :)! I remember when i first interweb-interacted with you and it was as always full of great vibes, hearts, and wonderful, I had idea the full on battle that was going on!

I love My Hallowed :)! ! FIGHTER! ! ! ! !

Does your Dr. make you get labs every time you feel like you need an increase?
Should I ask my Doc about needing more because I train/am trying to diet?

Did you Doc ever look into WHY you have converting problemos? I thought that was mostly a Hashi thing or is it sometimes people just don’t handle T4?

You stay on T3 only forever??

1200 calories??? or AT LEAST 1200? And all this cardio I’m tryin to do…is there even a point until I am close to optimized???

Thanks for letting me pick your brain!!!(we’re public now)

SQUAT DAY 2/20/2012

Week 1 Cycle 6 of 5 3 1

PUNK ROCK ROOTS

For my BFF Mo whose Birthday was yesterday, and Sean whose Birthday is tomorrow.

A. SQUATS (FULL Depth below parallel)
5 x 65
5 x 80
3 x 95
5 x 105
5 x 120
5+ (10) x 135
These were definately the best max set I’ve done in a long time. Nice and deep and plenty of them felt very good. Happy with this. If I can keep this form through the next two weeks I’m considering upping my squat max for the first time since my re-set.

B. WALKING LUNGS
10each x 40LB EZ Bar
10each x 40LB EZ Bar
10each x 40LB EZ Bar
10each x 40LB EZ Bar
This was a full lap of the gym and it was GNAR! quads were SCREAMIN!

C. LEG PRESS (Constant Tension Slow Movement No Lock Out/Rest)
14 x 3pp
14 x 3pp
14 x 3pp

D. LEG EXTENSIONS (LONG Hold @ The Top)
10 x 95
10 x 95
10 x 95

I was done. I felt like it was a great workout. Shakey legs and Hella Fin though. So I didn’t do abs or calves. At this point I owe shoulder circuit & bis/tris from prior workout and now calves and abs from yesterday. I think I will do them all today along with my cardio.

FOOD
1: Turkey Burger Patty Single Serving Almond butter (+10 lean protein, +5 Healthy Fat)
2: Whole Foods instant gluten free oatmeal with 1Scoop Metabolic Drive Low Carb & 1 cup almond breeze (+5 clean carb +10 Lean Protein)
3: Peri Workout 1scoop Surge Workout Fuel, 1 Scoop MAG-10, 1 Scoop Anaconda (+5 Peri Workout Carbs)
4: PWO Think Thin Bar (not sure what this would be counted as? Clean carbs/protein? its 230 calories 23 grams of carbs and 20grams of protein anyways it was PWO so I’m leaving it neutral)
5: 1/2 can of PURE Protein Shake 25 protein for half single serving almond butter (+10 lean protein +5 healthy fat)
6: 1/2 cup Whole Gran Pasta w/5 oz of tuna (haha I eat gross stuff) +5 clean Carbs +10 lean protein

TOTAL CALS-1,708, Fat-78, Carbs-92, Protein-=172

+25 Workout
+10 Daily Exercise (I think I count this? Need Oleena to audit me)

+100 for the day I think thats my best total since we started the clean week points game.

My love for you is big as the sky! By the time I got here… By the time I got here I knew victory was mine. It was just about bringing it to fruition! The girls that went through it with me on lowcarbfriends maybe saw me at my lowest. Still even then, I always knew I could do it… someday.

It is my pleasure and honor to help you in any way that I can B!

I want you on minimum 1200 cals a day. If that looks like 1500 cals on training days and 1000 cals on non training giving you an average of 1200 I GUESS thats okay but I don’t like to see you AVERAGING less than 1200 calories a day.

NO MY doc does not make me get labs for every little T3 increase. My doc WILL increase without labs everytime… but on the basis of where the labs are. Like my last labs that came in crashed out horrible I called and on the basis of those she increased. Then at my visit she increased again (without newer labs) and has increased me again since then too. It son the basis of how low they were and that it will take several increases to get them back up. I will NOT be asking for another increase and don’t think she would give it until my next labs and appointment in April.

For you I don’t think you should ask for more yet… when are your next labs and appointment? For where you are I think you should be getting labs like every eight to ten weeks and increasing on the basis of those labs. How are you feeling on the amount of T3 that you are on? If you are feeling good, great! If you feel good for three or four weeks and then the fatigue creeps back in on the basis of THAT I would call and ask for a T3 increase… still I think she should be retesting and redosing (increasing) FREQUENTLY. I was on a ten week schedule my first three visits to my doc. New labs and visit every ten weeks. HELLA EXPENSIVE OMG.

LOTS OF PEOPLE DONT CONVERT T4 to T3 it is NOT just a Hashis thing and is why the standard sythetic T4 only treatment is such garbage. Most docs hand out synthetic T4, assume you will convert and never even test T3! They ONLY test TSH. Its abso ludicrous. NOT only do I NOT CONVERT… I REVERSE CONVERT. I cannot have T4 my body only turns it into RT3 making me sicker and ruining my life.

NO I do not think you should go nuts on the cardio right now. yes I think you should eat clean but not drastic and keep up your training and some cardios that you’re doing with the pup. Yes there is a point because you are better already and will KEEP getting better. Just start reasonable clean eating, get in your training and some cardio. eventually your T3 will catch up and the scale will move. I actually expect it to start moving for you SOON!

I will stay on T3 only FOREVER. Hopefully when my adrenals are in better shape I may even be able to cut the mcg that are incoming… we’ll see!

So I am confused, whats with me not being blonde?
