Gyms to Train at in Toronto

hey guys

this august i am going to be moving away to school ( i dont know where yet…have to decide soon) but its between St.fx in Antigonish and Humber college in toronto…anyways i was up to Humber a month ago and i must say…the gym fucking sucked!!! No power racks…nothing to squat out of…only a smith machine…fuck that… so if i decide to Humber i need a serious gym…or at least a gym with a power rack to do my workouts…If anyone knows of a great place near the Humberlake shore campus…id love to know! it could either be walking distance from the campus…or i could use the bus system

Take a day trip there, look in the yellow pages or on the web, and look around for some gyms. I had a similiar situation when I moved to work in another city here in alberta and I just looked around one saturday and found an ideal gym.

haa yeah i was trying the yellowpages, didnt have much luck but i will try more later tonight…

You won’t find any powerlifting gyms in Toronto, except for a garage gym called the Anvil. I think it’s in East York though. There’s a gym called Fitness 365 that’s not too far from you. I heard it’s decent.

The general student gym at STFX sucks balls, unless you’re playing a varsity sport you don’t get to use the good gym.I spent a summer there a couple years ago, they don’t even have a power rack and have the gayest ever check in system…unless it’s changed since then.

If you find a good gym, let me know. I’m in search of somewhere that will let me learn and then do snatches.

I used to work in the supplement industry in Toronto, so I’ve met a lot of the owners.

That’s cool, I just started working at a supplement store on Tuesday. Even that gym on center street is too far by bus. I really need a car.
