Brethren,
I see two gyms near the Riverwalk in San Antonio:

Anyone know anything about these gyms?

I recommend you stick to Gold’s…or at least visit those other gyms before signing up. The Gold’s in that city seem to be pretty well equipped. The nation’s largest Military Medical Hospital is there.
Thanks.
I have a quick 2 day visit with a customer there, and we’re staying at a hotel on the Riverwalk with no rental car, so I was looking for walking distance, but, hey, it ain’t always that easy. I normally have a rental car at my disposal…
I guess I’ll get a cab. The two Gold’s south of there look about 5-6 miles away. The one off of I-37 looks promising! Will consider that.
Actually, this past week in North Carolina was that easy. Stayed right next door to this place: http://www.enterpriseworkout.com/MEET_THE_OWNER_DZZ8.html and visit was free as a guest of the hotel! Sometimes I get deals like that. Had 4 days on site and had to buy a 2 lb tub of protein when I got there for the week. I ended up going through the whole tub in 4 days because I didn’t want to have to try to get it through security at the airport…
The Spectrum you’re talking about doesn’t seem to be geared towards lifters so much. San Fernando’s… I’m not sure what the set up would be like there, I always thought it was a boxing gym. Gold’s would be your best bet to stay on the safe side. The two Gold’s your talking about are pretty solid, I actually train at the one on the corner of SW Military and Zarzamora. I have yet to find a gym that I like better. The one off of I-37 is ok I guess… Whenever I go, everything is always so messy.
I agree, stay away from the spectrum. The golds I finally decided to stay at is the one on I10 at Fiesta Trails before I went to 3 other golds. I was really used to the one back home since it was really well equipped and plenty of space (the building used to be a Toys-R-Us). I’m going to have to go to the one mentioned here by anthony.
