I’m headed to the Arnold Fri-Sun next week and I want to lift somewhere. My hotel is obviously going to be near where the Arnold is taking place (I’m actually sharing a room with the infamous Dieselweasel). A gym with bumper plates/a platform is preferable, but not needed. Thanks.
There’s this Fitness Club called Westside, where you could go to work out. I’m sure they have day passes.

There’s a nice Curves close to your hotel. Its very clean and there won’t be a bunch of big gross sweaty guys there like at the other gyms in the area.

There are some good bars in the Arena District, Which is right next to Nationwide Arena. The R Bar, Gordon Biersch, There is also an Irish Pub there. Can’t remember its name. Barleys is a good bar too with quite a selection of microbrews. Brothers is also a cool place with lots of women. All should be within walking distance of your hotel.

Do not go to campus, Dublin, suburbs etc. there are some good bars behind the north market just a block across the street from the convention center. personally i like Callahan’s. also right behind the martini restaurant across from the convention center is kooma, best sushi place around and its also a cool place to go. they usually have a DJ there

The Irish Bar is O’Shaunessies (I butchered the spelling).
There are a ton of bars right close to the convention center – you won’t have a problem finding booze or women.

Living in Columbus, I can tell you the YMCA is probably the closest gym but I’ve no clue what it will be like during The Arnold:

Have you checked to see if your hotel offers a gym (which would probably be even more packed… sorrry)?
Finding bars, restaurants, galleries (yes, ART), and women will be no problem, considering what The Arnold IS and the fact that you’ll be in the middle of the Short North/Arena District.

I live in Columbus Ohio and my gym is nowhere near the convention center and the short north, where most of the action is happening. And though there are quite a few gyms nearby I think your best bet is the YMCA. If you’re on foot, start on High Street, in front of the convention center. Head south about 5 blocks to Long Street. Turn right and about one block west is the Y. I used to go there when I worked downtown and it was a great place. During The Arnold, though, I’m guessing you won’t be the only one… Temporary passes would ordinarily be no problem. During the festival you should contact them directly, though:

I’m sure they do, it’s a courtyard marriott so yeah. But it will probably be shit. Maybe I’ll just do some conditioning/light stuff with DBs. But fuck that. I want teh goodz. Well honestly I’ll probably hungover and I won’t want to lift.
