Okay, so I’m at this health center in OK working out with my new girl. I’m working my chest and doing incline press with 120 lbs dumbbells (I know some light weight but I?m working on it, 4x8). There is plenty of room but I still move off to the side.
I’m on my third set and this ass walks right next to me and bumps my right arm… WTF!! Are you kidding me?! The weight hits me in the face and I throw it to the floor. All I can see is red. I want blood. I want to kill this guy, I want to throw him against the wall and rip him apart? Lucky for this guy there is a really pretty girl that grabs me and starts kissing me.
Seriously, what ever happened to the gym room respect? WHEN SOMEONE IS LIFTING STAND CLEAR AND WAIT! The most you?re going to lose is a few seconds.
CAN we cut out the dirty looks while we are at it? It normally gives me more motivation, but recently I have just been wanting to walk up to you and ask if I can help you or if you want a picture?
What is that about, we are all her to better our selves, we share the similar goals (look like Arnold, maybe bigger legs, and lift like The worlds strongest man), to not be the fat ass who does nothing but dream.
ALSO, do you have to grunt with every lift…? REALLY, once or twice when you?re going really heavy, okay, but every lift every time?! I don?t know if I should come spot you or bring in a bucket so you can finish crapping yourself.

Just tell him to watch what he’s doing next time in a polite but businesslike manner. If he gives you any grief, tell the front desk and mention about their liabilty blah blah stuff.
You know, I was with you totally up until the complaining about someone grunting on every lift. Somebody should never have walked into your arm, or disrupted your lifting. However if the other guy feels the need to grunt to complete his lift, I fail to see where you can really get mad about that.

I’d agree with you that you can grunt once in a while will probably help you and not hurt others.
But what pisses me off, and I think the OP was complaining about the same thing, is when a guy is grunting like crazy curling a pair of HUGE 20lbs dumbbells for 5 reps, or legpressing with a half inch ROM.
I was lifting yesterday and there was a couple sitting on an adjustable bench very passionately kissing.
That’s right. Kissing. On a bench. With dumbbells scattered all over the floor around them. In a crowded dumbbell room. With people waiting for equipment.
Kissing.
If I’d needed to use the dumbbell equipment right then, I’d have gone ballistic. It was one of the craziest things I’ve ever seen.
Stop curling dumbbells two inches in front of the dumbbell rack just so you can get a movie close up of your HUGE (ridiculously small) biceps so that everyone lifting has to wait for your neverending set to finish before they can grab a weight or return one.
PS, don’t get an attitude when I interrupt your extended remix set by reaching directly in front of you to get my weights causing you to miss a rep. I see your frowning, bitch. Frowns don’t hurt me.

I know 60 times 2 equals 120. But that doesn’t mean you were using 120 lb. dumbbells. Rather, you were using 120 lbs. worth of dumbbells. There’s a difference.

I really don’t get this post. At all. First, I find it hard to believe you are 6’4" and 240 pounds. While that is not huge, it is respectable. It has been my experience that people don’t go bumping into guys your size.
Second, what you are doing is worse that “talking shit.” You are talking shit online, where no one will hear it. Why are you making pseduo-e-threats?
Either handle your business or shut up. No one is intimidated or impressed. If anything, we are all laughing at you.
You are like the guy who has a huge adrenaline rush, screams a few times, crashes, and then starts crying. We all know that guy. Don’t be THAT guy.
There is no reason why the guy couldn’t apologize to him for banging his arm. That is poor gym etiquette, and regardless if its an accident or not, could easily cause a fight.

As has been pointed out, this RARELY EVER happens if you actually have some size on you. I have had people apologize like they killed my dog for just randomly bumping into me.
So i was curling 35lbs dumbbells in the curling rack, and some chump walked in front of me and I didn’t get to see my last rep, which results in my most vascular moment. I ripped the curling rack out of the ground, and was going to kick this guys ass, when his mom showed up and gave me a blow job. He’s so lucky I didn’t kick his ass. If I ever see him at the gym again, i’ll take off my wife beater and strangle him with it.
