p.s. i do enjoy owning guns, i do everything the average gun owner does.i frequent the range, hunt on occasion, and have had over 20 hours of class room training for firearm related issues at one time or another. i only happen to have put in the extra work required to carry my pistol with me legally(believe me it was allot of extra work).

i deliver pharmacueticals throughout southern and central California depending on which office needs my help at any given time. when you start getting into downtown la, norwalk, compton, watts etc. having that piece with you could be a life saver, it could also be the reason you get shot. i am willing to take that chance, i’d rather have it and not need it than need it and not have it.the “average” American gun owner is more like me than not.

It is a hijack on this thread and I apologize for propogating it, but I don’t agree that mazilla is right that the average American gun owner is like him.

The average gun owner doesn’t post on public forums about how “hard” he is, that he’s put a gun in someone’s mouth (or ear I can’t remember for sure).

The average gun owner doesn’t say

when talking about the permit they spent all that time working to get a permit that allows them to carry concealed, not a permit that allows them to shoot someone.

The average gun owner doesn’t keep talking about “law enforcement” hollowpoints when he posts about his carry setup as most agencies use off-the-shelf ammo and if they don’t, the ammunition they use is available to civilians under different names or slightly lighter powder loads.

I’ll give him this. The average gun owner usually does call a magazine for his semi-auto pistol a “clip” even though it’s not, but that’s just me picking nits.

The way mazilla talks about his weapons makes non-gun owners think the rest of us ARE nuts, and that makes them push for laws that attempt to hinder our abilities to protect ourselves.

i got them from my CHP father in law. they are “lawman” series .45 hollow points. you can’t buy them without a badge. of course it’s the powder load that makes the difference, thats why they are law enforcement loads.
