I should have said, perceived flaws. And you guys are way too hard on yourselves!
I originally leased the Hellcat, then bought out the lease.
Then sunk more into it than it cost brand new…
I do not recommend.
A majority of Americans live paycheck to paycheck. So you are probably right.
Just the lease payment and insurance (over $2K a month) would ensure the guy probably isn’t a bum. Most likely bad with money, but is likely making money some way.
I get what you are saying too. Lots of the fairly well to do live in modest houses and drive used cars.
Depends on your credit. My lease was $500 a month, but I also put 15K down. Costs me roughly $130 a month to insure the Hellcat and that is with 350K/500K, $500 deductible, and Hellcat insured for 95K.
If you had good credit you could have leased a hellcat for $700-900 depending on options with nothing down for a long time.
(I have bought 4 hellcats in my tenure very familiar with the pricing and costs lol).
I have a buddy that was thinking about buying one. He got some quotes on insurance, and that changed his mind. The lowest he got was like $700 a month for insurance.
IDK, he is a younger guy, and I think has crashed a few times.
Insurance is weird though. I have a Mazdaspeed 3, which isn’t hellcat fast, but full coverage for me is $45/month. If I was in the business, I wouldn’t insure that car for $45. It’s not that it is an expensive car, but most people with them have them modded up, and drive them hard.
Yeah, he must have been young, single, no higher education, and a shit driving record. That is nuts lol.
You get discounts for age, married, homeowner, education level, credit score (at least my insurance does this), etc.
So…
The 20 year old Suburbun that my ex flipped on it’s side before I got it back is not a status symbol?
One of the advantages of old age. I paid about $450 every 6 months in a four car package for my 2015 Charger Hellcat. I now have a Scat Pack Charger Widebody for the same price.
BTW, when I was competing I never owned a new car. New cars and bodybuilding “supplements” could not coexist on my income.
I mean that is all in the eye of the beholder.
Some meth junkies might think so.
It’s a status symbol alright…
We are a bunch of dudes who spend way too much time on a weightlifting/bodybuilding forum. Chances are a lot of us (I know I do) have body dysmorphia hiding other trauma…
100%
I was bullied mercilessly as a fat kid before puberty.
Then I got large and mean and played D1 ball and some arena.
After maturing nobody fucked with me.
Pretty much same here. Got bullied for being fat and nerdy from 3rd grade until 16 years old.
Not until I started lifting and playing rugby, putting on good size did people stop messing with me.
I was the youngest of 5, 4 boys, girl was oldest.
So I was getting picked on and beat up all the time, and once right in front of our house I’m getting smacked around by my nemesis and his sidekick and my next older brother sees it.
He’s watching for a while then yells “Hit him like you hit me!”. That was the end of that duo! ![]()
I had no idea you could that. ![]()
Does showing obvious camel toe and 90% see-through gym shorts count as a mating ritual?
Maybe as a man I shouldn’t get into a “what women wear” debate, but some of these young girls, I imagine their fathers would flip if they had any idea.
Or am I just an old prude?
I believe this has changed. If one looks around these days bodybuilding supplements can be fairly inexpensive. I could do a beginner cycle of testosterone only at 500 mg/wk for $25 a month. Adding other compounds is generally around $30-80 for 500 mg/wk per month. Something like EQ or Deca would be closer to the $30 a month to run 500 mg/wk, anavar or primo closer to $80.
I suppose this is likely due to the Internet, and the competition it allows.
The cost is more so in the lab work these days.
You’re not an old prude. Last week I told my wife about my daughter, “If C__ ever thinks she can leave this house like a street walker, there will be a HUGE problem!”
I don’t think it’s a mating ritual. I also don’t think decency is akin to prudishness and think walking around near nude is rude (aside from the beach and water sports).
Btw, contrary to popular belief, many fathers don’t care about what their children do, sons or daughters.
No, you are correct.
My daughter is still very young, but as long as I’m paying - I’m saying.
That’s what my parents did with me and it worked wonders.
If you are 18, and think you can pay your own way and take the hard road - she can do whatever she wants.
Under my roof where I own everything? Big negative.
I think it comes down to what these now 20 something’s have grown up with. Social media likes might as well be currency (and often can generate that) and the quickest way to social media stardom is to leave little to the imagination or just go full blown OnlyFans “model” (stripper).
It doesn’t take talent to be liked/paid a lot anymore. It only takes good lighting, a good
, and no shame/personal boundaries.
I remember watching a video not long ago where an “influencer” asked a dude to move because he was in the shot. He politely declined and she said something to the effect of “I set this shot up for 10 minutes and you need to go follow my Insta”. The absolute hubris displayed by that is mind boggling.
Hats off to the dude he just continued his set and said “no, I don’t think I will”.
