Guns

Any handgun enthusiasts on the forum. The knife talk got a lot of interest so I was just curious. If so what have you shot, owned, etc.
(Glock, Beretta, HK, etc.) and caliber (.40 S&W., .45ACP, 9mm, etc.) Lets hear it.

Stoner Systems. No longer manufactured but the finest automatic weapon ever made.

I’m not really an enthusiast but I have a couple of guns. A Glock in .40 S&W, a Dan Wesson .357 mag. and a Colt target .22.

I like to shoot the .22 the most because it’s cheap to shoot and I can knock off a couple of grouse to eat for dinner without using either my rifle or bow depending on the season.

I used used to carry the .40 when the situation called for it. My wife has done the same. I’ve seen better carry guns but like I said I’m not an enthusiast.

I own a few firearms Glock 32,27 and 22. Love them all I carry the 27 all the time. I agree that it isn’t the best gun to carry concealed a bit too thick for me. I also own but rarely shoot a Colt Delta Elite in 10mm, great gun very flat shooter hell for accurate also. I’ve got a Colt Phython as well but never shoot it. Been thinking about buying one of the new Khars or maybe the H&K USP 45 Compact. Great post I wish it had been put up sooner. Have a good one.

YES! A thread I can get into! Between my father, sister, brother-in-law, and myself, I would say we have damn near everything under the sun. Personal favs: S&W .357 Mag model 686, M.A.K. 90 w/ 100 round drum, 45-70 lever action. oh yeah, thats what im talkin 'bout…

As a big game hunter, I’ve been more into rifles than hand guns. I’m going to be looking into a pistol grip for a new rifle in the near future, probably another .30-06. I’ve also got a .308 Winchester, and an antique .22 that accepts long rifle, long and shorts in any combination. My wife is the hand gun enthusiast of the house. .38 revolver, .38 Glock, and another I don’t remember. She was looking at a .38 mini last Christmas (too small for me, but she liked it). My grandfather had a pair of .25 minis, one he kept in a pile of magazines next to his bed. After he died, it took us several hours to find it. Funny, I wonder if he would have been able to get to it in an emergency.

brider- what kind of .22 is that? That is a very interesting sounding rifle. Do you know much about the mechanism, how it can accept the 3 rounds interchangably at any time? That is just cool…

I’m a big game hunter too. My rifles are: custom made .300 Super Magnum by J K Cloward (Winchester Model 70 action, Magna Ported Douglas barrel, Precision Research stock, trigger was reworked, action glass bedded, and the whole thing is done in black teflon), a Sako Finbar rechambered to 30.06 Ackley Improved (I wouldn’t do that again), Remington Model 7 .308, Remington Gamemaster .270, Thompson Center Black Mountain Magnum .54 cal. muzzleloader.

All that firepower and the biggest animal I’ve killed was a 6 point bull elk with my bow. I like to shoot though, bow, rifle, pistol, muzzleloader…they’re all fun.

It’s an old Remington, with a slide action, don’t remember the model number. The rounds go into a spring loaded tube that feeds the chamber (almost looks like an over/under configuration). With open sights it’s deadly accurate at up to 50 yards with LR’s (at least in my hands, others could probably go longer). Put a round through a grouses eyes a few years back – all I could see over the edge of the road was the head, so I took the shot and made a clean kill.

Oooh! Me too, me too! Been shooting since I was a kid. I currently own a Wincheser Model 94 30-30 (best brush gun ever made, IMO), a tricked out Ruger 10/22 for varmints, Bryco .380 auto, WWII Enfield SMLE Mark IV .303 British, and a few others. Looking at buying a big-bore handgun for big game, too. Maybe a Ruger .454, but we’ll see. Anyone else?

I have a few “toys” now. I carry an old
Glock 19 (with the pre-ban clip) that has
a cool, stainless steel barrel that has
two vents in the end, a guide rod laser and
hogue grips. I love this gun, it is like an
extention of my hand and I am dead accurate
with it to 25-30 feet right handed. My
wife has a lil KEL-TEC 32 she carries that
I hate but hey…different folks and all.
We both have a matched set of Bersa 380’s that
are “PPK’ish” that look good but collect dust.
Also, have a GP-100 (canon) and Beretta
21A lil’ 22 popper flip top. Also, a cheap
Davis 22 mag over under derringer. For
“long” guns, after the WTC thing, Brock went
out and bought himself two CETME military
surplus rifles (let’s see if there REALLY
are gun buffs here  and Brock wants to
save up to buy either a Barrett 50 BMG or
perhaps a Maadi-Griffin MG-6 for uhm…taking
down “big game”. Me in a gun (or Harley) store
is like a crackhead in a pharmacy or Mike
Mentzer in a pay toilet!!! I could drop
some serious $$$ on toys. Steyr-AUG makes
a nice bullpup but I am thinking of buying
a Romanian AKS and dropping in a pup
stock. Woo-hoo and remember, here in Indiana,
all you need is a tax stamp to go full auto
and silenced!!! I would like an old
HK-P7-13 some day  Brock

IF GOD OWNED A HANDGUN IT WOULD BE A GLOCK

If you guys want a good video reference (and have a strong stomach), get “Deadly Weapons” and “Deadly Effects” from Paladin Press (I think). They’re police/military training videos that illustrate how different calibers, rounds, and target materials, uh, “interact”. And Brock, the homemade .50 bolt actions (fired from the SHOULDER!) and the .50 Ma Deuce are not to be missed. Too cool.

AW’RIGHT ! I love guns and hunting! First deer small, buck when I was 12. .308 Remington, 870 Remington 12ga., J.C. Higgins 16ga. 10/22 Ruger and Browning Buckmark .22. Nothing exotic now (when I get rich?). I like gun hunting but prefer bow for deer (not as many idiots shooting at noises during bow season,LOL). Hey Brock, I’m from Kokomo,IN. Would love to meet you. We’ve got a few T-men in the area (Brian Schoonveld and Chad Coy, 1st and 6th place, 2001 National Strongman Competion) Both really nice guys. Ever been to Bullseye Boats & Guns? Good range, good prices. Later -LW

All I have currently is a Kahr K40 (40 S&W) and a Sako hunting rifle in 25-06, both of which I like a lot.

Well, lets see… my latest is a Glock 21 (.45 ACP), my personal home defense hand-howitzer. I also have .38 and a .357 S&W, Winchester .30/30, 7mm Mauser, Remington 1100 auto 12 guage, and a couple of little .22’s.

All i have right now is my dad’s old Colt Commander in 9mm. I really like it. Looks beautiful, fits my hand like a glove, and is very accurate.

What are the rules for you guys in the states? can anyone carry a concealed weapon? listening to you talk about carrying a loaded pistol “all the time” is something I never hear about up here in canada. As far as my guns are concerned, I mainly hunt gamebirds like grouse… I’ve got a beautiful side-side 12guage greener shotgun with intricate engravings (good for duckies too), and a .22 long range. Never held a handgun or auto in my life, although I’d like to give both a try…

cam birtwell: I live in a “Shall issue State”, I have a CP Licence and carry 15+1 rounds of 10MM just about all the time, except in restricted areas. (or in the shower =])

lessee…

At 10mm 2,420 fps / 1,015 flbs x 15+1 = I carry 16,240 flbs energy total.

Maybe you guys could help me out. I’m looking for some “home protection” but my knowledge of guns is very limited. While my dad owns a 9mm, I didn’t exactly grow up in a gun house. What would be a good choice in terms of price, accuracy, and stopping power? I’m not looking to overthrow any small governments or single handidly rescue MIAs, i just want to be able to drop any piece of shit who thinks he’s going to break into my house and hurt my family. All of my friends recomend the 9mm, but I think all of my friends watch too many movies. Any advice would be very appreciated.
