Gun Policy in the USA

Well that wasn’t my point. In this country prior to the '80s, as in most countries 18 is viewed as officially an adult. I am saying that if you are considered an adult in one sense, you should be considered an adult in every sense. I would even raise the driving age to 18.

You have to sign up for selective service at 18 and you could be drafted. That’s adult enough for me.

But where is that?

I would agree that there is an inconsistency when it comes to when someone is an adult. 21 to drink. 18 to vote. Murder someone at 15 and you might be charged as an adult.

Could is the operative word.

CT. Which is still better than New Jersey as you can still get a CCW permit here and we have open carry.

Sooo, they’re not adults unless they’re drafted? We force children to sign up for selective service and if their lottery number comes up it magically makes them an adult?

Mmkay…

Apparently, that is the case. I wouldn’t say it magically makes them an adult but it might make them grow up in a hurry. They still can’t drink alcohol though. Don’t ask me to explain it. There is no actual federal law about what age someone is an adult.

BTW, Illegal aliens kill more people than rifles do each year. When can we talk about banning them? Most use guns to do their killing too…

Most people killed by guns are killed by other people so let’s ban people.

Most people saved by guns are saved by other people so let’s not throw the baby out with the bathwater …

And what if one of those people happens to be illegal? Do our heads explode?

I’m not really familiar with Napolitano. I thought from the video he was just saying how it would be a state by state legal issue, not giving his own opinion.

Mine wouldn’t … people save people regardless of legal immigration status, just as people kill people regardless of legal immigration status - I can’t presume what your head would do in any given case…

I’d like to see one of them buy a wedding cake here.

In CT? I don’t think they’d have a problem…

Trump is trying to get a bipartisan bill going here, and there seems to be a hint he might piss off the NRA, which just until now I thought he would never dream of. Maybe Emma Gonzalez’s speech hit home? She addressed him directly.

I think at heart Trump’s always going to be a populist first, and a party second. It was a major critique of him during the election, that he wouldn’t have enough consistency (duh).

If enough others follow suit will the govt be willing to step in AGAINST business rights? Walmart feels massive. It’s not like the GOP can afford to lose supporters when 2A people aren’t going anywhere.

Dick’s Sporting Goods did something like above, I just forget if I saw it farther up first.
