Try the 3x per week.

My current program has heavy bench Monday and Friday, with a ‘technical’ session of lighter, longer paused, benching.

If he hasn’t reccomended it already, Khangles pointed me to PowerLiftingToWin, and they have a free programming ebook to download.

All of the programs there have 3x per week bench and squat, with 2x DL.

Its a great PL theory read if nothing else.

Yeah for sure. It’s good but a bit dry maybe I just have a guinea pig’s attention span. Will look into it when I can bench 3x per week.

Do you think it’s a good it’s a good idea to run it just for my bench and do my own thing for he others lifts?

I can see parallel working, in theory, though you’d have to consider how the program fits together overall.

Im hesitant to make a recommendation either way on this one. If it was a BB programming question I’d dive in head first but Im still a complete Newb when it comes to PL programming so Im just going by the book myself.

Run sheiko 29-32, turned my poverty bench into a lower middle class bench. But really, my max went from 275 to 315 in 16 weeks. twas glorious. Oh its good for your other lifts too, but who cares about those. amirite?!?

Yup, You lift 3 days a week(Mon, Wed, Fri if possible). Bench every day, Squat monday and friday, deadlift wednesday(IIRC). It is very demanding, you will need as much food and sleep as possible cause once you get to 31 and 32 you will be fried after almost every session.

haha yeah, its hard work, but very rewarding IMO. Once you finish it you will be left with a big sense of pride and accomplishment…and an even bigger raw total.

Bench Press gain ideas are all decent. Doing the bench portion of some other program could work but can’t say how well or how to implement it given I don’t know what you’ll be doing for the other lifts and the rest of your body. Will say again there’s deadlift only comps lel
