Cold wet day just how I like it. Apparently there’s some record rainfall coming over the weekend so dunno how I’ll feel about a flooded gym.

Squat 135kg (ish because lbs) 3,3,3,3

Will start sleeved training in a week or two as suggested in another thread but for now hitting some lower reps with 135kg.

Went to my old gym today that I lifted at when I had just started; Crunch and apparently I forgot how shitty the equipment is. Weird thick bars and no centre knurl made for awkward lifting. Also only one set of kilo plates and I can’t count in lbs. no filming either gg

On the plus side I’m now the strongest guinea pig in the gym

Bench 95kg 3,3,3,3

Awkward bar with faded rings and two sets either side (oly). Bit embarrassing but didn’t know where to grip. Got in the work tho

Deadlift

Sumo 180kg 5,5,5

Not enough kilo plates so am gonna assume 10lbs and a clip is close enough to 5kg. Form felt off today but muscled thru anyways to get in rep PRs

Conventional 155kg 7, 7, 5

Back started rounding out a bit so cut off the last set at 5 but happy with the volume PR

Not worth the nostalgia factor if your old gym is shite. No point being the big fish in a pond full of shit. Only go to sexy gyms for sexy lifting or if you want a casual visit adventure maybe find a legit powerlifting gym around somewhere.

Nice day to be back at Doherty’s City gym to lift with my buds. Luckily the gym wasn’t flooded (much) by the record rainfalls in the past few days.

Tbh I was kinda disappointed with four days straight drizzle when the Bureau of Meteorology was talking some big shit about the rain and flooding. Hopefully everybody was as disappointed, safe and free of property damage as me.

Deadlift

Sumo Deadlift 180kg x 6,6,6 Rep PRs

Started off with deadlifts again because the platform and Eleiko were there beckoning me.

Form felt a bit awkward today but didn’t look too bad and the plates bounced onto my right foot and toes one set but still got in the work and easy lifetime rep PRs.

Conventional Deadlift 160kg x 5,5,5,5

Not a lifetime PR but if I wanted it, it was definitely there. None of that haven’t worked with this weight before so is technically a Rep PR bullshit this time. All time rep PR weight and reps is 160kg for 7-8 so am looking forward to cracking it soon. Yeah buddy

Bench 95kg x 3,3,3,3,3,3

Bench feeling shit as always but triples moves better than last workout. I’ll just put in the work for now and focus more on bench when I’m done form checking and tweaking squats.

For fuck sake bench why you no grow? Inb4 @everyone catches up or surpasses me.

Pls all stop benching to make me feel better @duketheslaya, @j4gga2 @Kniebuigkoning @Irishman92 etc. Probably @MarkKO too because poverty bench but still moar than me.

Squat
140kg x 4 Rep PR
135kg x 4,3,3,3,3

Switched around Squat and deadlift again so was expecting a poor squat workout but turned out alright.

Getting some top set action in today with 140kg and went in gunning for a PR and hit a sleeveless lifetime rep PR of 4 reps. Am a happy piggy with this one and one step closer to reppin 3 plates for fun. Then after the top set some back offs with 135kg for 3

Still never satisfied tho so form check update anybody?

Finish with a Superset 4 sets pull ups and dips to failure which turned out to be a bad idea because almost vomited up lunch on the way out the gym.

Still was the best training session I’ve had in a long time and after some Hungry Jacks the stomach has calmed down. 10/10 afternoon/evening

Chilling in the city tonight at my friends apartment and off the Bendigo tomorrow for a B-day and hopefully a KFC Giant Feast. Gotta get to SHW Pig before @anon96032531

How often are you benching?
Do you deload regularly or just not feel like you’re progressing as fast as you want?
Don’t get down about it, don’t rush it.
If it feels like you’re body is telling you not to up weight, then don’t.
The last thing you want to do is risk injury and potentially put you back

Twice a week bench out of necessity but I’d like 3 times a week. Probably do that in the future

If bench is shitting you try pressing shit above your head for a while or dips with a weighted nut sack.

I’m trying to throw in some weighted dips. Feels much better than bench tbh. For OHP… umm haven’t done that in a long time so probably a good idea. Putting it on the list for next microcycle

While you were talking about my plate to plate stance sumo but today there was plenty of clearance. Part my fault so shifting the weight on the way down but it bounced twice then onto my foot. Nothing bad luckily can’t even feel it now.

Agreed. Also looked like a bit a shifting on the way up. Must have been a dodgy rep coz your x6 180kg looked clean to me. These things happen and I’m glad you have bought your stance in a bit to accommodate these small discrepancies.
