Feeling pretty beat up from Monday still. Hip is a bit iffy and lower back is still sore (I guess that’s what happens if you skip conventional for a bit then come back full force).
Not feeling it today. 80% of my body is ready to go but just don’t feel like going ham like in my head like already switched off.
Will see how I feel in the gym and at worst I’ll just go through the motions and do all the accessory works.
Squats
Can’t even be bothered changing into tights…
Hip is still a bit funky so did nothing much. Fuck me. Might drop the weight loads and work on technique and take this as an opportunity to rebuild. Things I’m looking to fix:
Squatting too deep
Tighter back position
Bar path (I think cos I hit a weird sticking point)

Pause Bench

Benchy volume at 90 % 1RM still trying to get technique better. Only have a few cues but that feels like too much lol. Road to SHW belly but not SHW brain I guess

Favourite cue so far:
Point of chest set high as possible before lowering and bring chest to bar during lowering
And that’s all I got lol. Can probably only do 2 cues at once and maybe 3-4 altogether but not same time
Tbh am still not sure what’s meant to be happening while I’m lowering the bar. Better if I don’t think about it at all lol
Also I need to find a cue or some drill or something to get my scapula shoulders and back tight as fuck.
Maybe leg drive too but that’s low on the priority list

Need the hype cos I gotta practice pulling more aggressively.

Felt slow looked slow. Glad I got in some work though especially getting used to taking a while off the ground.
Went into the workout planning to skip deadlifts but got in some work in the end so I’m happy with that.
Now to starve myself and hopefully have a new low weigh tomorrow.
Band pull-aparts. Lots of band pull-aparts.
When lowering I focus on:
-squeeze bar as hard as possible
-Keep lungs as full as possible
-‘Lift’ point of chest towards the bar (simultaneously forces hard arch and scapular retraction).
This^ is something that helps me keep my back tight and everything primed for the push. Bring your chest to the bar.
Yeah it’s a great cue and since I started using it all aspects of the bench Press are better for it
