GuineaPig’s Training Log - Hunt 300 Deadlift

Dehydration will make a bigger difference to scale weight that the amount of fat+muscle you could gain in a single day. Day to day glycogen and hydration will make a much bigger difference than lbm and fat mass changes.

So sodium doesn’t do nothing except give you high blood pressure?

Tougher to judge, will depend on timing as well as relative water intake. If you had a high sodium day that was also a high water intake day you could weigh even more, but if you have all younwater intake AM and a high sodium meal PM wouldnt have the same effect.

Kind of having the same issue with flugtuating weight.

Easiest solution is make every day high sodium. Just salt everything generously and weight seems to be much more consistent. Then its just a case of being conscious of how much you drink.

How much do you weigh and what kind of fluctuation are we talking? You don’t look too big tbh but lift big

Weighing 79 kg today. 182 cm Tomorrow it could be 0.8 kg more. I try to Eat to gain. But end up the same. It is usually 3-400 gram a dag give or take

You’re bigger than you look on camera. Are you like weighing yourself under the same conditions everyday?

Yup every day morning. Post wee.

Expecting weight to come back up but it’s still staying down there actually like a little bit lighter than yesterday

Will see what happens after a big day of eating and a workout today

Tried to look up “Guinea Pig Lumber Jack” or “Guinea Pig Flannel” but nothing much came up. Maybe @duketheslaya or @Kniebuigkoning can photoshop that shit for you

Caved on the power flannel. Went cheap with AusPost’s parcel forwarding service and saved 30 bucks. I don’t trust Auspost lol hopefully it goes well

Tweaked something around the front of my hip so called squats off during warm ups just to be safe. Guess it’s a sign from the gods that I should be training push pull

Pause Bench
90kg x 3,3,3,3,3,3,3,3,3,3

Working on pausing longer lol. Need to count to three to make it IPF approved.

Playing around with slowing the descent too dunno if that’s better though.

Feels like a long time ago when I moved my grip out to pinkys on the rings which was wide at the time. Feels normal now. Maybe time to start moving out more.

I’m liking the low rep lotsa sets kinda thing.

Bench spam incoming.

Sumo Deadlift
200kg x 4,4 Rep PR

Eleiko bars were taken so tried out the Force USA Power Bar. Just not the same IPF approvedness. I dunno what it’s called exactly but the bar was rotating really smoothly um maybe too smoothly kinda fucked with my straps. It is stiff enough I guess.

Felt better than last time but I’m still a bit lazy with back tightness. Still intimidated by the weight and that annoys me. Pull with intent and commit to the pull and stuff like that.

Conventional Deadlift
170kg x 5,5,5,5

Back to some conventional after skipping it loads for a volume PR. Felt terrible though round back city.

Press
45kg x 7,7,7,7

The prophecy is fulfilled

Give the bar a hard shake pre pull to like activation the magic super power flight or flight sympathetic nervous system to confuse the body.

First pulls are often slower than subsequent reps but IMO that means you weren’t pulling aggressively enough the first rep.

Dunno what else to say. If 195kg moves for well for reps I don’t see why 200kg shouldn’t.
