Always knew you were a cheat!! Lol
Read all those comments. One part of me wants to go in and tell those idiots they don’t know what they are talking about and that you are perfectly capable of doing cleaner reps with heavier weights, and likely more than they could ever dream of doing themselves.
But the other part enjoys the show, and that part wins out.
Finishing off week one of me own program and performance was high so that’s a good sign.
Hit pause deads 230kg x 3 @ RPE 6 which is an ability/E-1RM PR (if had kept going would’ve been a rep PR).
Also hit some rep squats which is dislike in general and tend to avoid but I think are good for me gains. Felt uncomfortable to rep it out but worked up to 155kg x 8 @ RPE 6 which is a straight up rep PB to start off the block.
Week 1 of self written block has gone well, better than I expected, with plenty of room to progress. next 3 weeks will be similar structure with some bumps in volume and weight as we go. Then deload. Feels strange being off the Sheiko Gold AI training app including not inputting wellness data each day but looks promising so far.
Some more training thoughts:
Deadlift wise as I’ve gotten more proficient and increased my cheating powers I have a sneaking suspicion that my average deadlift training rep range is better off higher. Doing a set of 6 with minimum ROM is equivalent to doing a set of 3 with normal ROM so makes sense to equate overall work (weight x distance moved). So multiple sets of 3x @ 60-70% which make sense in most people’s deadlift training context is equivalent to not very much work for me = inefficient gains an stimulus to fatigue ratio.
Weekly training split is:
Sunday: Light Squat/Deadlift Volume
Monday: Lower Hypertrophy
Tuesday: Upper Hypertrophy
Wednesday: Off
Thursday: Squat Volume/ Light Deadlift
Friday: Off
Sat: Bench Volume
May look closer to see if there’s junk volume to cut out to improve gains and time efficiency
This is not a “you’re a sumo cheat!” post at all, because you are sure as shit stronger than me…but I still marvel at the ROM of your deads. I think my ROM on Rack Deads is about the same. It just blows my mind, is what I am saying. I think you are only a tiny bit shorter than me, but your proportions are such that it is like you were specifically designed for this task.
Which doesn’t explain why you also squat a ton, but that is for a different post.
Thing is I think I’m just above average leverage wise. There’s plenty of people with longer arms and better hip mobility but I’m pushing the limits of what I can do. These other peeps really are freaks in this way when u think they are next level or two above me in being built to deadlift. It’s a relatively new development also. Go back a few months and had a moderate stance.
In any event, the combination of your build and your stance makes it look like you are very close to standing upright when you begin the pull. Living the Dream.
Pioneer PAL belt arrived a bit too late to train with it but seems to do the job well. Micro adjustable enough that I can get the right fit whether I’m using it for squats or deads or with a hoodie. Also if eating a bit too much KFC pre workout.
RoadToLeaningBackwardAtStart
No such thing as too much KFC pre workout, sir.
Belt is looking pretty sick though I must say.
Well isa sodium AKA electrolytes so checks out.
Haha, those random YouTube comments got to you piggie? Ignore the haters, looked like you emphasised the lock out as well on the paused 230s, was that for them too? I checked out the video can’t believe how many comments it got haha, who in the world cares that much about some random dude pulling sumo, I know I waste a lot of time online, but they’re taking it to a whole new level. Kind of expect it when a big name is pulling big numbers. … maybe you’re just destined for big things?
I’d start renaming your vids to stuff like big ROM pulls just to get extra comments, then monetize the channel and start making commentary videos on how good you are an how massive the ROM is and fight the commentators saying you have the biggest sumo ROM in the world and it’s actually a disadvantage to pull sumo for you.
Be rich in no time!
Ye all social media is kinda that way these days.
As far as emphasising the lockout goes isa because it’s low reps so may as well. It’s the easiest part of the lift usually and I can tell when it will be near effortless to “lockout” a rep more convincingly consisting of leaning back a bit. It’s not actually moving the bar/doing work at all at least against gravity and momentum from the pull usually does the job anyway.
So when the reps go up I just hit what feels like standing vertical from a fraction of a second and pump out the reps.
I had a random (probably a bit) comment on a video of me squatting 220kg and asking
- If 220 was I pounds…as if I’d found a stack of comically large 20lb plates
- Why my knees went inward a bit
Y the world like dis?
Hmm I’m no psychologist but putting other people down probably makes people feel a little better about themselves and whatever they got. It’s a cheap boost because u only cheating yourself living that negativity life.
RIGHT YOU DO KNOW ABOUT CHEATING!!!
Training with the boiz at a different shed today. Fun sesh and hit my numbers and more.
Didn’t film but hit me rep deadlift goals 220kg for 12+ reps (lost count myself but was told it was 14) Got peer pressured into going a bit bigger with a pause deadlift PB at 250kg. Pretty straightforward. My deadlift capacity is certainly up rn. Not the worst off programming I’ve ever done either so rest of the week should be unaffected.
Speaking of programming this is start of week 2 of me self written program. I was nervous how performance would be today, with fatigue carrying over from week 1, but it seems like my weekly fatigue management and training split is on point. I get hi performance days on Squat/Deads Sundi and Thursdi with plenty of room to progress week to week.
Lower body hypertrophy today. RPEs were a point up from expected probably due to going big yesterdi. Felt a bit sick during the workout in the tummy but didn’t end up hurling up me coconut water.
Getting Mike Israetel throwing up on leg day w hack squats vibes. Nowhere near the intensity though. At that point where ur vomiting seems kinda counterproductive tbh
