GuineaPig’s Training Log - Hunt 300 Deadlift

Ye. I’ll keep playing around and tweaking but u kinda know when ur not in a good place so then I do less and maybe I can push it if there’s some room.

Can go pretty hard each squat/dead session with 3 days in between. Probably be relatively easier days but no more true easy days

I think he kinda does, in a way. He doesn’t automatically throw out all bro science stuff immediately, if I remember correctly

Agreed 100%. A lot of it has to do with how the studies are designed

Hmm different vibe I guess. Like I like to listen to guys I’m confident know the evidence inside and out are up to date with the latest stuff and have extensive experience. If anything these guys don’t drop studies in their content unless it’s something new or needs follow up.

Ahh I see where you’re coming from

Ye dropping studies feels like intermediate evidence based lifter educator brah while not having to drop studies is like chad evidence base mastery

Quick bench/triceps sesh today. Moved a bit slow but that’s to be expected after hitting a lot of volume two days ago.

Triceps were fresh enough to hit em hard with JM presses and cable Tricep extensions. JM press isn’t bothering my elbows right now (first sesh I did them was achey after) so we’ll slowly push that and see what carryover we get.

How long did you leave the meat in there?
Can throw veg in there too, sometimes takes like 8 hours though.

Overnight. Probs close to 10 hrs. Used brisket because couldnt find chuck or short rib

Well, Short Ribs are a different thing. You can’t get brisket to come out the same. What did you sook the meat in? Broth? Brisket is going to be better with just a bottle of barbecue sauce and time than with most other things in a Crock pot.

Used Mexican style herbs/seasoning, beef broth and tomato. Was alright but for the next one ima go more traditional beef stew flavours I think.

Trained a day earlier than planned because things. Wasn’t feeling mega fresh on squats but certainly not ded. As predicted sessions will fluctuate between medium and high readiness. Sounds good to me even on a relatively low day I can push enough to keep me happy.

Adductor was a bit tweaky because did some stretching earlier in the day because didn’t know I’d be training today. Didn’t explode so that’s a win.

Hit pause squat PRs: 185kg x 1 and 175kg x 3 and high bar 155kg x 5 which was pretty hard.

Looks like me mate is gonna by a landmine attachment for the home gym. Can hook up a belt to it and do hip belt squats sooner or later. In the meantime will continue to focus posterior chain on the back raise and high bar squats.

Been using a prong belt whole time I’ve been lifting. Pioneer cut micro adjustable fit belt more recently. When it comes out in November I wanna try out a lever belt with Pioneers micro adjustable lever option AKA the PAL system. Dunno whether I’ll prefer prong to lever but keen to try it out.
