Felt tough enough. Set was RPE 9 I thinks. Maybe it’s just because I’m not used to near max at all. With sumo bar can feel stuck at the floor you have to keep pushing for a few seconds before the bar breaks off the floor. Not use to sticking there nvm staying patient and committing to it for a few seconds. But that’s what u gotta do to lift the max weight u can
since working with Kaleb, i have found new meaning to my RPE scale haha. mindset gains. i always get reminded of making sure i try harder haha.

RPE is related to bar speed thru a sticking point. At least that’s a better indicator.
Like Jamal Browner will blast anything off the floor because the way he pulls but also due to the way he pulls will miss in the top half of the lift where things get real slow real fast near max. If we just go off bar speed overall he’ll miss a lift that looks fast off the floor, that looks like a 7.
For me if I wedge in and the bar comes right up is low RPE if it sticks for a second it’s getting up there. If it sticks for a few seconds it’s a 9. But like I said I’m pretty out of practice at the top end and bad at judging it also.

Perfectly balanced
Bench and squat today. Lower back still sore from that big 250kg x 6 the other day so that messed with me squats a lot. Biggest set I’ve ever done and haven’t been sleeping eating well past few days so there it is. Dunno if lower back being fried is indicative of a specific weakness but I’m aware that I need to keep building up the posterior chain.
Highlight today was some slingshot bench top set 140kg x4. Felt alright considering everything was pretty shit overall.
how do you find the slingshot?
I am thinking about buying one to add it into my rotation of ME lifts.
It’s good for ego lifting for sure lol. We can talk about how it works to make gains all day but it’s theoretically and everyone responds to training stimuli different anyways. Might be carryover there the only way to find out is the try it out.
Maybe wait for a big sale from Slingshot or buy a knockoff. This one is from an Australian company but there’s a dozen or so brands putting out decent quality knockoffs like Titan.
Like this one is from the same company I got mine (which is a heavier version). It’s 20 AUD so like 15 bucks USD and I’ve used it before and it does what a slingshot should do. A light one at least

Got some protein “water”. Is whey but like cordial flavour and less creamy. It’s a bit easier to drink than a bunch of shakes like chugging water.
Protein wise my food intake was been pretty average. This year I’ve been eating between 120-140g of protein which is a low for weighing over 90kg / 198 lbs. Still been able to make gains obviously but might do better by getting that intake up.
The protein water will make it much more convenient so we will see if it’s beneficial to the gains.
Was up at 5am today because me deadlift slippers came back in stock over in the US in that sexy black/black. Sold out in a few mins. Luckily got in an order in about 30 seconds and it’s confirmed so should be good to go
Do you ever video from the side? It might have something to do with yor lower back losing position. When I pulled that ugly 600 sumo my adductors were real sore for a few days, but not my back and my sumo is way more bent over than yours.
