Bench TnG volume today. Top set 110kg x 9 matches a rep PR I think.
Hit some single arm DB bench work after. Finding if I hold on the bench next to my head with the non working arm it’s pretty stable.

Guzman Y Gomez closed in Bendigo a while ago. Their nacho fries were a favourite of mine. So in their honour I put this together. Not so pretty but tasty with all the usual Mexican flavours. Like a kilo of food lol

I want to say that the idea of making nachos out of french fries is gross, and yet…that looks frickin tasty.
They are both crunchy and starchy so I rate them evenly. Nachos probably with fillings you can scoop like pulled meats and mince. Fries with chunks of meat like grilled chicken or steak
Quick one today. Tempos felt aight which is pretty good for a tough variation I usually dislike. Is handy though extra time under tension, practice tightness control and positioning as well as building confidence with weights I usually rush.
Will use this as a benchmark leading into next block to build on. Top tempo squat single at 170kg. Not too long ago had to get srs for this weight in knee wraps so my baseline has gone up a ways.
Going into a deload early on account of life picking up. See u guys on the other side

that was a slow lowering into the hole. Do you find it helps more in controlling the squat near maximal?
We’ll see if there’s carryover from doing tempo squatting where we go slow on purpose. Feels hard no doubt
Theoretically moving slower increases technique gains and is more work/time under tension. If I can tempo squat heavier and heavier weights closer to max I’m developing specific benefits to the comp lift. Theoretically
For the actual comp lift I’ll move a bit quicker and try get some rebound is out the hole

Bit of a lull in life so snuck in a quick deload bench sesh. Haven’t had a full deload in forever so will probably chill the whole of the coming week as well.
Sold like 700 kangaroo dollars worth of plates past few days. They sell quick in this environment. Sold em to fund upgrades to calibrated plates because I dunno how long this lockdown will go (recently got extended). So might need up to 270kg on deads if I go big.
Deload deads up to 170kg.
Played around with doing back raises off me flat bench after. It’s a bit different because to hold on I have to kinda do a frog stance to hold on. Not dissimilar to knees out on squats or deads so some carryover there. Don’t think it’ll train my hams the same way a real back raise would though.
Was a bother deloading so back on the gain train.
Meh start to a new block of training worked up to a double on comp bench at 120kg didn’t moved particularly well followed by volume wide grip and accessories.
On the plus side JM press didn’t bother me elbows today. Made em less skull crusher like but still working me triceps hard
