GuineaPig’s Training Log - Hunt 300 Deadlift

Grabbed some cast iron plates that are a size I can actually use on my adjustable DB. So got the single adjustable DB up to 50kg.

Looks like single arm DB flat bench press, standing press and row are back on the menu boiz. DB pressing is great for me so I expect good things from em. Laid down with 25kg loaded up and it was tough work to stabilise. Neutral grip, wide feet placement and extending my none working hand might help.

Probably can’t DB row 50kg right now lel. Maybe 30kg for reps. Something to towards

Based on your press I would think you could row well over 30kg. That would even be easy for little old me.

Alright we get it u r big.

Mate remember we have met and I’m really not big. I was just saying that given how strong your deadlift and press is. Think you will find as you do them you will up the weight quickly. Maybe when I do them I just cheat a lot :joy::joy:

Ur probably bigger since. Some may say fatter but that’s hater talk. I exaggerate a bit probably could row 30 for > 15 but have never really pushed DB rows because they feel hard. There’s many ways to do em too so don’t even know if I’m doing them right.

Think barbell rows have got a bit stale after a few months though so gotta mix it up. Maybe some cheat rows instead for Hevy and volume with the DB

I probably am bigger but as my daughter says that’s just blubber

I like to do them with a knee and hand on the flat bench. I find I can get a really good stretch that way. Stops a little body English too. For me They are a movement where speed makes them easier so I vary between fast and slower reps. I know what you mean about barbel rows but they are so easy to set up and quick to do, I dont think I will ever stop doing them.

What DB’s are these? I have a couple sets but they damn sure don’t look that beefy

Generic brand. Adjustable Olympic DB handles loaded with 5kg cast iron plates. 50kg in total of olympic sized things so pretty beefy.

Ok that makes sense! When I looked at it I thought the piece on the end was a collar to hold the plates, didn’t realize it was just the end of the 2” (or what ever size Olympic is) bar.

Piggy can guaranteed row 50kg for 10 reps right now, but that would involve going over RPE 3

Could always try some Australian pull ups

How much load r u getting thru ur back with these? Gonna have to strap a 100kg to my chest

Average squat/bench day but got in work. Squatted up to a 3x2 at 170-175kg. Nice to know that weights i used too have to get srs for r now casual.

Didn’t want my slippies on the concrete outside so wore some high tops (rare occurrence lol). Made my feet sore so went barefoot for the last double (definitely prefer slippies).

Went barefoot for high bar back off work also with highlight there of 130kg x 15 rep PR. Cardio gains set.

Took solid 5 mins to recover and then onto some pocket bench work with Spoto Presses. Playing with a toes up/tucked under set up. Think it feels a little tighter.

Did some single arm dumbbell presses too. More challenging than I anticipated. Got up to just under 40kg and had to hold onto stuff to prevent my pig self from flipping across the bench.

My best regular DB pressing was 50kg x 12 so probably gonna have to work out a better way to stabilise over the next few weeks.

Yeah, I was gonna say the same thing. I am not going to fall for his little trap.
