Gimme dem keys. I’m doing a bit of em right now but they are more of a tool to keep training challenging/stimulating on light days. Comp days are for going big/productive unless deloading is my approach.
Last block my sleeves squat projected well over 200 off a new 5RM @ 175kg with a couple in the tank. Not sure how accurate it is but I’m looking forward to another productive block.
Yea i dont know how accurate the est. 1RM is because it gave me some relatively high ones as well. Those days where the estimated max is high though, I typically felt like i could push myself more though.
Don’t be afraid of some graphs my friend. These two graphs generated simply show how your rep PRs match up to your extrapolated PR ability and your readiness to go big on any given day.
In general is pretty simple. It tells you what do. U add stuff or subtract stuff if you want. Train and tweak training to keep you in the zone do training hard but not too hard.
Currently procrastinating on finishing off last assessment of this semester. Haven’t got in as many workouts as I’d like as of recently. Going to have a short 1 week semester break and then straight into the next block of study.
Will be doing teaching placements concurrently and doing paid work as an Education Support Worker so be pretty busy driving all over the place. Luckily I’ll have gyms everywhere between home gyms and covid restrictions easing on public gyms. Not going to be a super stress free period but ima make the most of it.
I’ll report back in tomoz with some PRs that I hit. Bai
So average day on squats brace wasn’t there. Squeezed out a PB triple at 180kg but was slower than should’ve been.
Wider stance cheat deadlift experiment continues with PB pause deadlifts 220kg x 4. It feels great but presents a host of new challenges I didn’t have pulling moderate stance sumo: controlling whip, balance and timing lockout perfectly. Still much to be done about starting position, tensioning and pulling slack. Mobility is not quite at plate to plate just yet so needs more work there too. Just gonna come down to practice to potentiate all these cheating gains.
Can only fit 4 fat red bumpers on the bar right now but we’ll see if I can get my mate to bring up his 25kg regular plates then we might go big next week lol. If feels good maybe go for 270kg if nah just rep PR something heavy or as much as I can fit on the bar if that’s the limiting factor
Na that’s not a win, that’s just you being clever and keeping it for another day. How about we both see how much we can push Bulgarians over the next year !!!
Sure y not. It builds my butt and I’m pretty meh at it so is worth a push I reckon. @MarkKO was taking shit about split squatting like over two plates so plenty of gains to shoot for.
Pre lock down when I was at the gym I was doing them holding 2 dumbbells and I think reps ranged from 6 up to 10. Heaviest I went was 37.5 in each hand but I reckon dumbbells is easier than barbells.
Didn’t go big today because my friend is unreliable. Probably for the best because my lower body is still feeling pretty sore so another days rest is good.
Did a bit of light bench today. Still feels bad. Weak and left pec feels tight. Not sure what’s up. The usual culprit is doing too much work but I’ve been taking plenty of light bench days. May just take a week off and then try something different like focusing on hypertrophy of the pressing muscles and wide grip bench which I haven’t touched in ages.
Felt alright today so hit 270kg / 595 lbs for a PB on meme deadlifts. Easy enough so went for a second and tore my hand open for the first time ever. Because of the hand wasn’t able to strap up and go for an AMRAP with 270kg or do the rest of the session but happy with that. About triple bodyweight though I don’t really care much for that as an indicator.
My goal was 270kg by the end of quarantine planning for all the way to August but here we are. Would like to thank @flappinit for his belief and when we believe everything is possible apparently.
Have only had like a few weeks in this new technique so was pretty sloppy. Moved much easier than I expected and that caught me off guard. Much fine tuning to be done technique wise. For a max deadlift sesh I don’t feel like it took much out of me so shouldn’t impact the next few training days too much. I can probably squat/bench to some degree with my hand
