GuineaPig’s Training Log - Hunt 300 Deadlift

Maybe high. Maybe the high angle. Close enough lol.

I’d like to be tighter still to be honest. Hate it when weight feels heavy on the back. I’ve been told strongman yoke training is good for that but I’ll wait until after first meet.

The speed in those squats makes me want to take a trip to your motherland just so that I can find out where you live and slash your car tires.

Remember we are upside down so it’s a lot easier !!

In the immortal words of Zyzz (RIP) come at me bro

Is nice to slam into the bottom a bit on high bar tho. Nostalgic. I squatted that way for most of my lifting career. Wide stance is a recent experiment

Had to think a minute to figure out how that would work

Damn, u clean good.

French maid pig

Could be the one I’ve used is very new still so plenty sharp. For singles it’s good, no chance of slipping. Anything past three or four though…

Imagine what I could do with a power tool.

At some point sharp goes from grippy to rippy lol. I feel the balance is perfect on my StrongArm Sport bar. Not enough or too much on various other bars I’ve used.

A lot of damage potentially

Not enough music around so my playlist gets stale often. My mate put me onto Only the Weak by In Flames. Head banger for the next 3 months lol

That squat looked offensively fast and effortless. I’ll help you dig the tunnel down there @Cyrrex.

If u reach Oz ur welcome to train in my quarantine gym. I dunno if you’d fit in my rack though

Got home. The half rack dissensions don’t seem too bad for dips. 40cm wide (narrower than most dips stations I’ve used but I like narrow) and if I’m to put something across them it’ll needa be at least 1.5m long. No convenient lengths of pipe lying around the home at least at a glance of my dads hoarding.

That would do as a dip station and for a cheap rack it looks mighty fine to me.

180 kangaroo dollars from Aldi not bad at all. Probs the cheapest home gym thing I’ve bought. At the time I was trying to go maximal el cheapo but once the endorphins started flowing from the spending I’ve ended up spending a fair amount.

If I had the choice again or indeed if an opportunity popped up right now I’d go a bit more money for much more quality methinks. Bit more money on racks isn’t really much relative to my big spending habits

You know, in spite of the supermarket cheapness factor, I wouldn’t be too surprised is some regular old dip adapters wouldn’t work anyway. I mean, it looks like it has the same basic form factor of a rack.

Kinda hard to test that theory without risking a purchase on something that doesn’t work.

Heavy walkouts will get it. The form for yoke is completely different from squats and takes practice. It’s mostly about feeling heavier weight conditioning your body to not “Feel” the actual squat weight as heavy. I was doing walkouts with over 1k when I had an 850 or so equipped squat. I don’t get how guys can be shaking all over the place and looking like they’ll buckle any second and then make a squat attempt.

I’m not a handy pig not very visually/spatially intelligent either but i can see how that would work. If more places gave detailed exact measurements/designs of their might find on that could fit.

There’s a bunch of small businesses doing custom racks/benches and attachments right now but probably won’t be cheap. Spacing between holes is pretty big and would need a pretty thick pin (size of the safeties I’m not using) so that’s a fair amount of metal

Makes sense.

So as far as implementation goes:

Frequency relatively little like after the top set of heavy days every 1.5 weeks or so? Intensity like 10% heavier than top set?

Zahir Khudayarov comes to mind. Looks like is going to die and collapse taking the weight out of Monolift and in the way down but smooth/fast on the way up.

Basically. Everyone responds a little different. I started doing it, actually, because of the yokes in competitions that I was going to do. 1000lb yoke is going to seem heavy to try and run with if you’ve never picked that much. I was happy to find the carryover.
